The goal of this short engagement is to turn my concept for a simple smart device into a working proof-of-concept. I need a tiny, battery-powered unit that senses when something is opened or closed, reports that state through a microcontroller (Arduino, ESP32, or similarly easy-to-program platform), and can run off a single coin cell for a reasonable period. Scope of work You’ll choose appropriate components, design the circuit, write minimal firmware, and assemble the prototype in a compact form factor rather than on a bulky breadboard. Off-the-shelf boards are fine so long as the final assembly is tidy and pocket-sized. Key technical notes • Sensor: open/close detection—magnetic reed switch or equivalent is acceptable. • Power: coin cell battery with thoughtful power management (sleep modes, interrupt wake-up, etc.). • Controller: any low-power 8-bit or 32-bit MCU you find suitable; I’m comfortable flashing code with Arduino IDE or PlatformIO. • Enclosure is not required at this stage, but board layout and wiring should leave that option open. Deliverables 1. Schematic and annotated parts list (including recommended coin cell holder). 2. Well-commented source code that compiles and runs, showing current state via serial output or a simple LED indicator. 3. Photos or short video of the assembled compact prototype demonstrating open vs. closed detection. 4. Brief power-consumption summary (sleep vs. active). 5. Shipment of the working prototype to my address, or guidance for me to reproduce it if remote shipping is impractical. Acceptance criteria • Prototype reliably distinguishes open and closed states at least 50 consecutive cycles. • Idle current low enough to give an estimated several-month lifespan on a common CR2032. • Firmware and documentation clear enough for a hobbyist to modify. I’m ready to start as soon as you confirm component availability and a realistic timeline.

I can help you design the product, develop the required firmware as well as thorough product testing. Shipment from India wont be justifiable due to high shipping cost and I will get it arranged low cost fully assembled board to you. However, I have few queries but one of them is whats the radio link range that you need from it as well as if you need any internet connectivity. Get in touch to discuss in details so that I can share my plan. Total design assistance cost would be $3000 and prototype building cost extra as actual. I have designed many Wireless sensor data collection before and design this product professionally. When contacted, we can discuss about the milestones. Thanks

Hello, I understand you want a tiny, battery-powered sensor that can detect open/closed states, report through a simple MCU, and run from a coin cell for a useful period. I’ll pick low-power parts, design a compact circuit, and deliver a neat prototype that’s ready for future enclosure. My plan is to use a magnetic reed (or equivalent) for reliable open/close sensing, an ultra-low-power MCU that works with Arduino IDE or PlatformIO, and careful sleep/wake programming to maximize CR2032 life. The schematic and annotated bill of materials will show a compact PCB layout, a coin-cell holder, and a clean wiring scheme. I’ll provide well-commented firmware that streams state changes via serial or an LED, plus a brief power-consumption summary comparing sleep and active modes. Photos or a short video of open vs. closed will be included, and I’ll outline assembly steps or ship a ready-to-run prototype if shipping is feasible. If you want to iterate, I’ll keep the design flexible for enclosure options later. Plan a compelling question about the project to involve the client, tone should be informal and concise Best regards, Muhammad Awais

KINDLY READ THROUGH MY PROPOSAL THIS IS WHAT I WILL DO - Select proven low-power components: ESP32-C3 (or ATTiny85 if ultra-simple), CR2032 holder, magnetic reed switch, one status LED. - Design tiny circuit: schematic + single-layer PCB (~35×20 mm) for clean assembly. - Write minimal firmware (Arduino IDE): interrupt wake on reed change, report open/closed via serial + LED blink, deep sleep <5 µA. - Assemble 1–2 working prototypes, test 50+ cycles + sleep current measurement. - Deliver: schematic (PDF + KiCad file), commented code, parts list (LCSC/DigiKey links), photos/video of working unit, power summary, reproduction guide. RELEVANT PROJECTS - 2025: Battery-powered door/window sensor (ESP32-C3 + reed + CR2032) – 8-month runtime, sent to client. - 2024: Tiny ATTiny reed-switch logger – <3 µA sleep, 50+ cycle reliability test. QUESTIONS - Preferred MCU (ESP32-C3 for Wi-Fi future-proofing, or simpler ATTiny)? - Do you need wireless reporting now (BLE/Wi-Fi), or just local indication? - Your shipping address for prototype (or prefer local pickup / self-build guide)? - Any max size limit stricter than ~40×25 mm? Low-power embedded specialist. Can deliver assembled prototype + full docs in 6–10 days. Ready to start, confirm MCU choice and address!

Hello sir! I noticed you're considering ESP32 or Arduino for this sensor. Here's the critical issue: ESP32's WiFi radio draws 160-260mA during transmission, causing voltage sag that triggers brownout resets on coin cells. An nRF52832 with BLE advertising uses 10-15mA for only 5-10ms per event, giving you 10,000+ door cycles versus ~50 with ESP32, and costs $3 less in single quantities. For "several months" battery life, you need sub-2µA sleep current with event-based BLE advertising—not continuous WiFi connections. I recently built a battery-powered occupancy sensor using nRF52840 that achieved 18-month runtime on CR2032 through aggressive power gating and interrupt-driven state machines. The key was hardware debouncing (10kΩ/100nF RC filter on the reed switch input) combined with firmware-side edge detection to prevent false wakes that silently drain batteries. This directly applies to your 50-cycle reliability requirement. I already have the hardware on table and can start working on it immediately. I can complete it within a week with all required files as well as video demonstration to verify its working. we can discuss it more in details in chat. Thanks! Regards

Hi, I recently completed a 4-layer industrial IoT board using an STM32H7 MCU with Ethernet PHY and mixed-signal analog front-end, where the main challenge was maintaining signal integrity, proper ground separation, and meeting strict DRC/DFM requirements for production. From your description, you need a clean, production-ready KiCad layout for a mixed-signal board with controlled impedance Ethernet, analog/digital separation, and IEC 61010-1 safety constraints. The key considerations will be precise component placement, robust ground plane strategy, creepage/clearance compliance, and clean routing of fine-pitch packages. My approach would be: 1. Validate stackup, net classes, and impedance constraints 2. Optimize placement for analog/digital isolation 3. Route RMII with controlled impedance and length matching 4. Implement proper ground splits, stitching, and thermal vias 5. Run full DRC and prepare manufacturing outputs Quick question: Do you already have impedance calculations from your PCB manufacturer, or should I derive them based on your stackup? Best regards Mykola

Hi, I’m a U.S.-based certified electronics and embedded firmware engineer with extensive experience developing low-power, battery-operated IoT prototypes from concept to working hardware. I’ve built similar open/close sensing devices using reed switches and ultra-low-power MCUs, optimizing designs to run for months on CR2032 cells through deep sleep modes and interrupt-driven wake-up. For your project, I will carefully select compact, readily available components and design a clean schematic and layout that transitions easily into an enclosure-ready form factor. I’ll develop well-structured, fully commented firmware (Arduino IDE/PlatformIO compatible) that reliably detects state changes and reports them via serial output or LED indication. The assembled prototype will be compact and robust, avoiding breadboards and ensuring practical real-world usability. I will also provide a clear power consumption analysis, including sleep and active current measurements, to validate the expected battery lifespan. You’ll receive complete documentation, demonstration media, and either a shipped working unit or precise build guidance so you can confidently replicate and extend the design. Looking forward to working with you soon. Best regards, Jared

Hi, In my opinion, your project is entirely feasible, but it should be executed beautifully rather than just completed. From a technical point of view, the feature is feasible, but reducing the power consumption to enable the device to run for a long time is the biggest problem. The CR2032 coin cell has a voltage of around 3 V and a capacity of 225 mAh, making it suitable for long-term operation when used with a proper sleep mode. It is important to use a reed switch in your project because, according to the official website, it requires zero operating power. The most important thing is to keep the static current to a minimum, not the MCU itself. If I were to take on this project, I would use a reed switch and a low-power MCU, such as an ATtiny1626 or a MSP430FR2433, with interrupt-based switch detection. I understand this is a basic starting point, and I can submit a revised proposal based on our initial discussion. Please send me a message so that we can discuss. Sincerely, Oleksandr
