I have a read and write circuit which can perform read and write operations on a PMC (programmable metalization cell) memory cell. Now the circuit I want to design (we will call it a controller as it controls the operation) will first read the data stored inside the cell (with help of read circuit) , perform certain operation then write down the result with the help of write circuit.
The detailed working of the controller circuit is described here: it will first read the data from read circuit. Then it should compare the read data (stored data within PMC cell) with the data to be written (or input data). If the stored data and input data are different, then only the controller will write the input data with the help of write circuit and if the stored data and input data are same, the controller will not perform any operation. The ultimate goal is the if I connect the controller with read and write circuit , the controller should function correctly during read and write operation for the same data and different data. After designing the controller, I need the power and speed comparisons.
The clear goal is
1) to design a controller circuit to perform read and write operations for the same data and for the different data as well
2) to perform speed and power calculations with and without controller
