Our community-funded project is putting up a 20' x 20' gable-roof pavilion in a public park. I already have a full set of purchased plans, including the footing schedule, but we have decided to soften the roof pitch from 6:12 to 3:12 so volunteers can frame it more safely and reduce overall height. I will send you the original plan set and all footing details. Your task is to check the impact of the new pitch, make any structural adjustments that become necessary, and then issue a signed and sealed set that my local building department will accept. Both code compliance and clear proof of structural integrity are required for the permit. Timing is important—our permit application is scheduled for next month—so I need the stamped drawings and supporting calcs back within about four weeks. When you bid, please outline what you will supply (updated sheets, load calculations, PDF + hard-copy seal, etc.) and confirm that your stamp is valid in my jurisdiction before we proceed. The entire pavilion is being built by volunteers with donated funds, so an accurate, transparent quote up front is essential. I look forward to working with you on this community project.

Hello, I’d be glad to assist with this pavilion roof revision. This sounds like a thoughtful adjustment, and I understand the importance of making sure the pitch change is properly reviewed for both structural integrity and permit approval. I have experience coordinating plan revisions, reviewing structural impacts from roof geometry changes, and preparing documentation that aligns with permitting requirements. Based on the original plan set, I can review how the change from 6:12 to 3:12 affects loads, framing, connections, and any related structural elements, then identify any updates needed for compliance. I can support you with: • Review of the existing purchased plan set and footing schedule • Structural assessment of the revised 3:12 roof pitch, including any required framing or connection adjustments • Updated drawing sheets reflecting the revision • Supporting structural calculations for permitting review • PDF deliverables prepared for building department submission • Coordination regarding seal/stamp requirements based on jurisdiction I understand timing is important with your permit schedule next month and can prioritize a clear turnaround once I review the existing drawings and location requirements. Happy to review the plans as soon as you’re ready to share them. Best regards.

Hi there, I’ve completed very similar pavilion roof revision and structural review projects, including adjusted roof pitches, updated load paths, footing checks, and permit-ready signed/sealed calculation packages. I have some thoughts on the 6:12 to 3:12 gable-roof change, especially around rafter sizing, connections, lateral resistance, and making the drawings clear for both volunteers and the building department. For your community-funded 20' x 20' public park pavilion, I can review the purchased plans and footing schedule, provide revised structural sheets and supporting load calculations, and discuss PDF/sealed deliverables once I confirm the project jurisdiction and stamping requirements. Best regards, Robert

⚡⚡⚡Licensed Structural Engineer – Pavilion Roof Revision & Permit Support⚡⚡⚡ Hello, I have experience reviewing and revising permit-approved structural packages for community and public-use structures, including roof geometry modifications, load recalculations, and sealed drawing updates. I’ve supported projects requiring structural verification after design changes while maintaining compliance with local code and permitting requirements. My approach is to review the original pavilion plans and footing schedule, evaluate the impact of changing the roof pitch from 6:12 to 3:12 on loads and member capacities, then issue updated drawings and supporting calculations suitable for permit submission. Key technical points to confirm are project jurisdiction for stamp validity, governing design loads (wind/snow), and whether original CAD files are available in addition to PDFs. Thanks

Hello, I have experience reviewing and updating small pavilion and park structure plans for permit submission, including roof framing changes, footing coordination, load paths, and signed structural documentation. I am interested in this project because the design is already purchased and the main goal is to safely adjust the roof pitch from 6:12 to 3:12 while keeping the package clear for the building department. I will review the original plan set, footing schedule, span conditions, wind/snow/seismic criteria, and local code requirements, then calculate the structural impact of the lower roof pitch and update any framing, connection, bracing, or footing notes as needed. I will provide revised sheets, supporting calculations, and a signed and sealed PDF package, with hard-copy seal if required, once my license is confirmed for your jurisdiction. Thanks for reading my proposal. Edwin

Hello! I understand your project involves modifying an existing 20' x 20' gable-roof pavilion from a 6:12 pitch to a safer 3:12 configuration while maintaining full structural integrity, code compliance, and permit acceptance for a public park application. With experience in structural review and permit-ready engineering revisions, I can evaluate the impact of the reduced roof pitch on loading behavior, rafter forces, uplift resistance, lateral stability, and connection requirements, then provide updated stamped structural sheets and supporting calculations coordinated with the original footing and framing plans. My approach will include structural verification of the revised geometry, adjustment of any affected framing members or connections, and preparation of a clean sealed package suitable for building department review. I would be glad to communicate further and review the existing plan set and jurisdiction requirements in detail.
