Job Description:
Introduction:
Software which automatically organises documents and stores them locally when the user downloads them (e.g. from email attachments/website). The extension should use NLP to suggest document names for “saving as” - based on the file’s content. It should automatically create folders and suggest names for these folders.
The application should be similar to file juggler ([login to view URL]) except use NLP to classify documents instead of user inputted automation rules.
Application Idea:
The app aims to reduce the time spent naming and classifying downloaded files and documents. Moreover, it aims to reduce human errors which occur when files are downloaded from online sources (e.g. saving it in the wrong place or with the wrong name).
The application is for personal use so should be simple.

Students: Students often download files from university and online documents

Software should be a chrome browser extension or web application or whatever is easiest for you!
Planned features of the application (open to discussion):
File scanning and identification: This function allows the software to scan and identify the type (ppt, csv, pdf), format, and content of documents and automatically create the appropriate folders or tags for them.
Automated archiving: This feature allows the software to automatically archive files into the appropriate folders, or copy or move them to a specified location, depending on the file type or label. For example, PowerPoints from philosophy lectures should be directed to a “philosophy” folder.
Automated renaming: This function allows the software to suggest that the user renames their files (perhaps in a pop-up window) with automated file name suggestions, for example according to information such as file content, type, or date of creation, in order to better identify and manage files.
