MacOS Automation for SFTP Server Workflow

Job Opportunity: Expert in macOS Automation & SFTP Server Workflow About the Project We are seeking an experienced macOS automation expert to optimize our SFTP-based workflow. Our SFTP server, hosted in Germany, facilitates daily data transfers between our clients and our team. Each client has unique login credentials and access to two main directories: IN Folder: Clients upload their files. OUT Folder: Processed files are delivered back to clients. Our internal team works across multiple Mac computers with varying OS versions, currently relying on FileZilla for data transfers. However, we are open to alternative solutions. Project Requirements We need an automated notification system that meets the following criteria: Automated Email Notifications: Clients should receive an email once their files have been successfully uploaded to the SFTP server. Upload Completion Detection: The system must monitor file size changes at regular intervals and confirm an upload as complete only when the file size remains unchanged for a predefined period. Email Content Customization: The subject line should include the job name (folder name) to ensure clients can easily identify their ready-for-download files. Prevention of Incomplete Downloads: Clients often attempt to download files before the upload is fully completed, leading to corrupted files and additional workload. The system should prevent this issue. Potential Technical Solutions While FileZilla is our current tool, we are open to other macOS-compatible solutions, including but not limited to: ForkLift (automatic synchronization, AppleScript support, integration with Automator & Shortcuts) Transmit, Cyberduck, Commander One, CrossFTP, Viper FTP, Yummy FTP Pro, ExpanDrive, Rclone, Flow (various automation options) Hazel (by Noodlesoft) – a powerful macOS automation tool Apple Automator – built-in macOS automation solution AppleScript / JavaScript for custom scripting solutions Who We Are Looking For We need a highly skilled professional with proven expertise in macOS automation and SFTP workflows.
