The typos that survive are the ones spelled correctly. Spellcheck catches "teh". It does not catch "form" where you meant "from", "lead" where you meant "led", "their" for "there", or a missing "not" that quietly reverses a sentence. Those are what stay in a personal document through three read-throughs, because the eye supplies the word it expects rather than the one on the page. Catching them means reading slowly, and in places reading against the grain instead of with it. The other half of this is restraint.
