I am looking for four translators - one each for Mandarin, Hindi, Russian, Arabic ??" to translate about 155 individual terms from English into Mandarin, Hindi, Russian and Arabic. This number includes plurals and repetitive variations so it's not really that much work. Preference will be given to translators for whom the respective language is their mother tongue.
Care must be taken to ensure that the translated terms are no longer than the English as much as possible as they have to fit onto a mobile phone screen.
Being English-French bi-lingual, I am handling the translation into French. This is an example of what needs to be done:

The enclosed spreadsheet shows all the terms requiring translation. Most of the terms for French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian have been done. But the Mandarin, Hindi, Russian and Arabic columns are blank. Please use the enclosed spreadsheet to translate the terms and send this back once completed. NB: rows in blue and red do not need translating.
Care must be taken to ensure that the translated terms are no longer than the English as much as possible ??" though a few letters more should be OK ??" as they have to fit onto a mobile phone screen.
I also need translated the terms Mandarin, Hindi, Russian and Arabic into Mandarin, Hindi, Russian and Arabic respectively - i.e. the Hindi translation of the English word 'Hindi', the Arabic translation of the English word 'Arabic', etc - one for each translation. These will be used for the language option list on the phone - e.g. English, Français, Español, Português, Italiano
Being European, I am used to the Latin character set but I understand that these languages will require extended character sets. Consequently, please advise me of any necessary additional requirements to support these languages.
I just want to clarify a point regarding translations and encodings.
These translations will be copied from the spreadsheet into text files for inclusion into the mobile app. These text files can have various encodings such as the default ISO-8859-1, or UTF-8, UTF-16, etc.
So, whatever encoding is used to translate the terms in the spreadsheet must be compatible with the text file encodings.
