I am seeking a credentialed actuary or PhD/PhD-candidate statistician interested in a consulting project related to life expectancy calculation. I am a physician who regularly does consulting work related to life expectancy determination. I have developed a web-based calculator which I use in my work; I plan to publish that as both an article and book. A co-author to help validate and expand my medicolegal statistics would be very helpful. I am seeking someone who has experience with areas including: Survival analysis and survival curves Mortality/life-table methods and actuarial concepts Competing-risk models Epidemiology or population-health data R and/or Python for statistical analysis Documentation suitable for medico-legal or expert-report work Pay will be part-time hourly commensurate with experience, with potential to be an ongoing engagement. Confirmation of academic/professional credentials is required. Fluency in English at the level of academic publishing is essential.

The statistical methodology is what makes this project interesting to me, particularly because life-expectancy estimation needs more than fitting a prediction model. Survival analysis, censoring, competing risks, population baselines, covariate effects, calibration and uncertainty all need to be handled carefully if the results will ultimately support medico-legal work or publication. I am a PhD candidate in Machine Learning and Generative AI and hold an MS in Data Science and Machine Learning. I’m currently a visiting scholar at the University of Porto and have research experience at Fraunhofer AICOS focused on healthcare-related ML and evaluation. My statistical/programming stack includes R, Python, MATLAB, machine learning and data analysis, and I have extensive academic research and publication experience. Asad_Resume (2) For your project, I would be interested in helping validate the existing calculator from both the statistical and computational sides: reviewing the underlying assumptions and data sources, reproducing calculations independently, evaluating survival/life-table methodology, examining relevant covariates and competing risks, and establishing appropriate validation and uncertainty analysis. I can also contribute to the research and publication side, including methodology documentation, statistical tables/figures, reproducible analysis, and preparation of material suitable for an academic article or book.

Hi Doctor, I am currently pursuing my PhD, and I also hold an MBA in Finance and a BA. Your life expectancy calculator project interests me, and I would welcome the chance to help validate and expand it ahead of publication. I can offer: Quantitative modeling in [R / Python] with clear, reproducible documentation Working knowledge of [survival analysis / life tables / mortality methods: keep only what is true] A finance background useful for present-value and discounting work in medicolegal settings Academic-level English writing My approach would be to review your methodology and data sources, replicate the outputs against published life tables, document assumptions and uncertainty, and draft the methods and validation sections for your article and book. I can provide proof of enrollment and degrees on request. I'm available part-time and open to an ongoing engagement. Happy to discuss on a short call. Best regards

Your project aligns perfectly with my background in survival analysis and mortality modeling. I've successfully developed and validated similar predictive models for healthcare outcomes, including those requiring robust statistical rigor and interpretation for publication and client-facing tools. I understand the need for precise, defensible calculations in medicolegal contexts. My approach will involve a thorough review of your existing web-based calculator and underlying data. I will perform comprehensive survival analysis using R, specifically employing methods like Kaplan-Meier estimation, Cox proportional hazards models, and potentially parametric survival models, depending on data characteristics. I will focus on validating your current calculations, identifying areas for expansion, and ensuring the statistical integrity of your methodology for both article and book publication. To ensure we're perfectly aligned, could you elaborate on the primary data sources you've utilized for your current calculator? Additionally, what are your immediate goals for expanding the calculator's capabilities beyond its current scope? I'm eager to discuss how my expertise can contribute to your valuable research.

Perfect Match "LIFE EXPECTANCY STATISTICAL ANALYSIS" - you need defensible survival and mortality methodology that can support both a published calculator and medico-legal work. I’d approach this by validating the existing calculator against established life-table and survival-analysis methods, then reviewing assumptions around censoring, mortality rates, competing risks and subgroup selection. In R or Python, I’d reproduce the calculations independently so discrepancies can be traced to the underlying methodology rather than only the final output. For medico-legal use, I’d document each statistical assumption, data source and calculation step clearly enough for another statistician to reproduce and challenge the result. I’d also separate population-level estimates from individual-level interpretation, since that distinction can materially affect how a life-expectancy result is presented. Which mortality/life-table datasets and methodology are currently used by your calculator? Looking forward to work with you.

Medicolegal life expectancy models frequently fail Daubert/expert scrutiny when failing to account for left-truncation, non-proportional hazards in comorbid clinical cohorts, or crude cause-elimination without proper Fine-Gray competing risk formulations. I will audit, validate, and mathematically harden your web-based calculator using R (survival, cmprsk, flexsurv), benchmarking parametric/spline survival curves against standard actuarial life tables (CDC/SSA) and disease-specific registries. • Rigorous mathematical & survival methodology validation report (medico-legal defensible). • Reproducible R/Python benchmarking scripts with competing-risk hazard ratio adjustments. • Publication-ready manuscript methodology section, statistical notation, and appendix drafts. Are you currently modeling excess mortality via additive excess hazard models or multiplicative relative risk ratios over standard cohort life tables?

I have experience working with data processing pipelines and AI scoring, including statistical analysis via FastAPI services. I developed a monitoring system with a two-stage AI classification pipeline, which requires precise model validation. I have integrated external APIs for process automation, including undocumented endpoints and complex data formats. How do you plan to structure the validation of medical-legal statistics—through comparison with reference datasets or field trials?

Hey, I can help with the statistical analysis, modeling, and research writing for this consulting project. What is the main outcome or question you need analyzed? That will determine the right statistical approach and whether Python or R is the better fit. How I would run it: 1. Review the data, study design, and project goals. 2. Build and validate the analysis, then present the findings with clear visualizations and a concise explanation. 3. Handover: reproducible code, documented methods, and a clear report of results and limitations. I’ll check assumptions and uncertainty carefully, especially if the work involves epidemiological or survival data. This kind of analytical work is familiar territory. I should also note that I can’t claim an actuarial or PhD credential; please confirm whether that credential is mandatory for the role. Could you share the full project brief and any data or methods requirements? Aakash P.S. I’m happy to outline a similar analysis workflow. Just send a "Message" so we can talk :)
