My client has 3 Excel files:
[url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view]
File1 is the Main file. File2 and File3 are sub files.
These files need to be connected in a simple way. We are looking for a quick and easy solution to do the follwing:
All 3 files have some identical columns.
Here is what client wants:
If the value of a field in [url removed, login to view] is changed, the value of the field in [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view] needs to be change automatically.
File1: Height = 10cm
File2: Height = 10cm
File3: Height = 10cm
Client wants to change Height = 20cm in all 3 files, but they only want to edit the Mainfile, not all 3 files.
We need some instructions how we can place a reference into the 2 Subfiles and refer to the value in the Mainfile. All 3 files are open in Excel all the time.
My client is using high security setting in Excel, so if possible we are looking to do this without Macro execution.
But I think that Macro might be required, if that's the case I will advise client to change the security settings.
