Project description:
I have a list of 200 cities for which I need "City Council" contact information. The city council may also be called a city commission or similar, but searching for "city council" will usually lead to the right place.
Here's what you'll do:
1) Do a search for each "city's name + city council". Look for a page about council members, commissioners, or aldermen (all those are similar positions).
2) Once you find the page that lists the city's elected leaders (it's usually one of the first 1-3 results), record that URL. If it takes more than a minute to find that page, skip that city.
3) Then record the names of all council members or equivalent (typically 5-7 of them) and their email address if available. This may involve clicking on a separate page for each council member, but you don't need to record those subpages.
*This data entry project cannot be automated, so please don't place a bid if that was your plan.
