This project involves taking data from several text sources and migrating it all to the correct columns in excel spreadsheets. We have the excel sheet already set up in the correct format for use as a template. The data is in text format and each file contains different data for each selection. The main data file contains the information needed to add the rest (example the main data file has the UPC number, Name and Title Price etc . . . and the other files contain descriptions or tack listings which can be matched up to the UPC number) The text files can be opened with excel and will format correctly in to Tab delimited format. We would like the files split up into different media formats such as one excel file for CDs, One for DVDs and One for LPs, One for DVD Audio etc . . . There will be six categories in all therefore six spreadsheets. This project does not involve coming up with a format or data but rather combining the data from several spreadsheets into the correct formats.

I can do this in probably under an hour. You said that the source file is tab-delimited. Is this a repeated task? Maybe I can make an excel spreadsheet that can help you with this task every time you need it.
