We are seeking a motivated and confident Bookkeeper to support our growing team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills as well as the required technical attributes, and will possess the sophisticated character traits that will allow him/her to succeed in a fast-paced small business environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
Prefer someone who is Bilingual
Communicate and meet with clients to discuss any of their financial needs.
Processing high volume of regular AR & AP transactions.
Bank and credit card reconciliations.
General ledger reconciliation and maintenance.
General bookkeeping procedures including journal and job entries.
Perform Payroll at end of week
Any other duties assigned
Qualifications and Skills
Excellent English communication skills - both written and verbal
Must have strong interpersonal skills and understand the importance of confidentiality
Solid understanding of all bookkeeping procedures with a minimum of 2 years experience
Mid-level proficiency in QuickBooks
Computer literacy in Excel, Word and Outlook
Ability to easily shift focus depending on client needs Ability to work independently and pro-actively
Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment with special attention to detail
A desire to do it correctly the first time and be a team player with a "How can I help" attitude.
Manage on-boarding for new hires
Plan in-house or off-site activities (quarterly speaker series, quarterly management offsites, annual team retreat, annual holiday party, other events as needed)
Help employees with questions and suggestions about human resources, benefits, and facilities
Assist with recruiting and interviewing of potential hires
Liaise with building management, cleaning vendors, and other outside vendors to maintain the office
Order supplies and place food orders for weekly breakfasts/lunches and special events
Maintain and develop office policies and procedures
Handle all purchasing for company in accordance with approval procedures
Process invoices, assist in credit card reconciling, and run payroll
Prepare reports and compliance documents, including 1099s and government contract reporting requirements
You will have the opportunity to take on projects to learn about the various operations of the business -- communications, inventory management, vendor management, HR procedures such as recruiting, preparing offer letters, on-boarding, and termination.
