I've got tens of millions of contacts in my marketing database. I need a better way to manage them. I've been using Access and Excel but it's simply too cumbersome. I tried a few database programs but they proved insufficient for the size. (One could not handle import of even 20,000 contacts at a time!)
need a solution, whether custom, off the shelf, server based (I have a VPS with hostgator), or desktop (I have Win Vista, 7 and 8.1). I need to be able to:
1. Import csv files
2. Easily choose fields to assign to data
4. Perform filter/sort/lookups (as I do in Excel or Access)
5. Easily export files
Let me know your proposed solution.
UPDATE: I have posted this previously and awarded the project but the vendors were unable to complete. The most recent vendor setup MySQL db for me on my VPS, instructed me to install MySQL workbench on my desktop, and upload my files. I learned some mysql functions only to discover the process was much more complicated than he had suggested, and also failed to import any file which contained records with an apostrophe. This meant that proper names such as "Joe's Crab Shack" caused the entire import to fail. (As would city names, such as "O'Fallon").
I have tens of millions of records. I'm not going to go through and manually remove records. Please only bid if you know EXACTLY how to provide a working solution.
I am happy to provide a sample of the records so you can review. If you do not request a sample, I will not consider you for the project.
