The purpose of the Quote Generator (QG) is to estimate the cost of programming a project.

The cost of a project is comprised of the amount of time required to write software code for a particular product set and user specifications.

The excel spreadsheet is straight forward.

The Categories group the products. There are a finite number of products.

Each product requires a certain amount of time to program. (I need to be able to change these values as the amount of programming time changes.) The quantity of product(s), the complexity, and the amount of time to program them are multiplied by different rates to produce two estimates in Sterling Pounds and three in US Dollars.

The quantity will be input manually.

A: Category, B: Product, C: quantity, D: complexity, E: Minutes

F5 =IF(C5>1,(C5-1)*(E5*0.1),0) [if quantity is >1, quantity-1 * 0.1. so each additional unit is 1/10 the time of the initial unit to program]

G5 =IF(C5=0,F5*0,(E5+F5))

H5 =(G5*1.14375)*D5

This continues UNTIL ROW 195.

You will see from the formulas from C196, D196, they are calculated from S5:7, T5:7 and are fractions of the 480min (8 hr) day.

REPORTS

ESTIMATES and/or INVOCIES

1. Displays the Category, Product, Quantity, UK Tier A UK Tier B, USA Tier A, USA Tier B, USA Tier C, Total off Site min req, Total On Site min req, Total Project Management min req IF QUANTITY > 0. Conversely any 0 quantity will not show in the report. (layout to be discussed)

2. Have Option to generate the following:

a. Category, Product, Quantity, Time, UK Tier A OR UK Tier B (One or the other, not both)

i. This will then generate the Company LTD (UK Tiers) Invoice to Company LLC

1. Option to Print

2. Option to Email

3. Option to Save as PDF

4. Option to save to Dropbox

b. Category, Product, Quantity, USA Tier A, OR, USA Tier B, OR, USA Tier C (Only Tier A, B or C, [only 1])

i. This will generate the Company LLC Quote.

Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly based on option of selected table criteria to display as desired.

Once the Estimate and or Invoice is created I would like to have a form automatically generated for the programmer. The programmer will enter the ACTUAL AMOUNT OF TIME needed to program the particular products.

I would like to keep a database of all these forms and then have the real time averages calculated. If there could be a red or green numbers indicating shorter or longer time intervals than what was estimated. I would like to generate this for each particular project and have a running average for all of the projects.

FileMaker Go will be utilized for iPad, iPhone and Samsung (Android). I will import the data from each device and maintain the main FileMaker database on my laptop and sync via iTunes

Database and reports will be customized or customizable with Company Logo’s and Layout.
