I'm an independent solo criminal defense practitioner with one part-time legal assistant. I have a blindingly simple business model. Not much commitment to existing information systems, and no existing data will need to be imported.
I need a system that can track receivables and payments from clients and generate invoices. It would need to be remotely accessible (maybe parked on OneDrive?) and just mobile-friendly enough so I can use my phone to record payments received when I'm not at my desk. I can't find a commercial billing system that's a good fit for my business model, so I believe building one from scratch is the way to go. I have some experience with Access VBA, but I was never very good with it. I'd prefer to have something built in Access, but that's probably not a deal breaker if you can make the case for a different platform.
