I am a certified Mirth Expert with expansive experience in dealing with hl7 messages. I use mirth extensively as my healthcare data integration engine.
Please find attached my Mirth Certificate and Certification results.
Over the course of my career as a Healthcare Data Integration Expert, I have built numerous hl7 interfaces with mirth, some of which include the following:
1. As a software developer at CDC-Kenya, we have just finished work on creating a NwHIN (Nationwide Healthcare Information Network). For this I was responsible for building mirth channels which polls various EMRs and creates hl7 ADT^A04 when a patient is registered and hl7 ADT^A08 when there is an update to patient details. When an observation/diagnosis is made, the channel generates an hl7 ORU^R01. The hl7 messages are later transformed and the data stored in a central mysql database. The channel also sends out email alerts in realtime when a sentinel event(e.g. an ebola case, maternal death, transfusion error etc) is reported. At the end of the month, the channel sends out pdf reports to various health agencies/ projects, including Walter Reed (Kenyan branch), UCSF (University of Carlifonia San Fransisco, Kenyan team) and NASCOP (National Aids and STI Control Programme). The report contains aggregated data, to facilitate policy development and improve the decision making process , and for the pilot phase, this is compared to the statistics collected via manual abstraction.
