I need a standalone desktop application that will let our team plug cost component involved in bringing textile products into the United States and see the true landed cost per unit in real time. Core functions • Tariff calculation – For each SKU I will enter the HTS code, country-of-origin and quantity; the program should return the correct U.S. tariff rate and apply it automatically. • Shipping cost estimation – I want to enter carton or container dimensions, weight, and departure/destination ports, then have the program calculate freight, insurance and handling so the total cost per piece updates immediately. Because we work exclusively with textiles, presets for common fabric HS codes, duty-free thresholds and quota alerts would speed up data entry. An editable table of costs (inspection fees, brokerage, inland drayage, etc.) must sit alongside the tariff and freight numbers so I can tweak assumptions and watch the landed cost figure adjust on screen. Key expectations • Runs offline on Windows 10/11. An installer or single executable is fine. • Clean, Excel-style interface with import/export to .xlsx and .csv. • All formulas visible or easily auditable; no locked black-box logic. • Future-proof structure so additional modules—such as customs duty tracking—can be bolted on later without rewriting the core. Acceptance criteria A sample data set of five textile SKUs will be provided. When I load it and press “Calculate,” the program must output accurate tariff, freight and final landed cost values that reconcile to our spreadsheet within ±0.1%. Deliverables are the compiled application, well-commented source code, and a brief user guide. If you prefer working in Python (PyInstaller), C# (.NET), or another desktop-friendly stack, let me know in your approach; I am flexible as long as installation is straightforward and the UI remains snappy on mid-range laptops.

I read through your requirements for the textile landed cost tool and the HTS code lookup logic. Moving away from manual spreadsheets is a smart move since those calculations get messy fast when you add quotas and different origin countries. I can build this as a lightweight Windows application using Python or C# to keep the interface snappy. Since you need this to work offline, we can store your HTS presets and shipping rates in a local database. This way your team gets instant feedback as they type. I will make sure the math is completely transparent so you can audit every tariff and insurance calculation just like you do in Excel. We can set up the architecture so it handles your current five SKUs perfectly but stays open for customs tracking modules later. Hi, this project requires a precise, offline desktop solution for landed cost calculation in textiles, a domain where accuracy and auditability are critical. The main engineering risk lies in orchestrating real-time recalculation of complex tariff and shipping cost components while maintaining a responsive UI. I usually structure systems with clear separation between data input, calculation logic, and presentation layers to ensure maintainability and extensibility. I've built several production systems with similar complexity in feature integration and user-driven data manipulation. The Custom Feature Development & Integration project reflects my ability to dive into existing code, enhance UI and backend logic, and deliver clean, documented solutions. The TikTok AI Livestream Setup involved C# and Windows desktop integration, demonstrating my comfort with desktop environments and component orchestration. I recommend separating tariff and freight calculation modules from the UI to allow independent updates and auditing. This approach supports future-proofing and easier addition of modules like customs duty tracking. While this is not an AI-focused project, I emphasize transparent, auditable logic with clear formula visibility to meet compliance needs. I can start by outlining the calculation engine architecture and mapping the editable cost table integration for review. Thanks, Hercules

Hi, I can build a standalone Windows desktop application for textile landed-cost calculation with a clean Excel-style interface, real-time formulas, and easy import/export for CSV and XLSX files. I recommend C# .NET for this project because it runs smoothly on Windows 10/11, supports fast desktop UI, Excel-style grids, strong file handling, and a straightforward installer. I can also use Python with PyInstaller if you prefer, but .NET is likely the best fit for long-term maintainability. The app will let your team enter SKU, HTS code, country of origin, quantity, dimensions, weight, ports, freight, insurance, handling, inspection, brokerage, drayage, and other editable cost assumptions. It will calculate tariff, freight, and final landed cost per unit instantly, with visible and auditable formulas so nothing feels like a black box. I can include textile-focused presets for common HS codes, duty-free thresholds, and quota alerts, plus a modular structure so future customs tracking or reporting features can be added later. You will receive the compiled app, well-commented source code, sample data testing, and a short user guide. Best, Justin

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ✅Hi there, hope you are doing well! I developed a similar desktop application for real-time landed cost calculation in the import/export domain, where tariff and shipping costs were dynamically calculated and updated to reflect true landed costs per SKU. Based on my experience, the most critical part to successfully complete this project is ensuring accurate tariff and shipping cost computations with instant UI updates tied to editable cost components. Approach: ⭕ I will build a standalone Windows application using C# (.NET) with an Excel-style clean interface. ⭕ Include preset textile HTS codes, duty thresholds, and quota alerts to speed data entry. ⭕ Implement dynamic tariff and freight cost calculations based on user inputs. ⭕ Integrate editable cost tables so changes reflect immediately on landed cost units. ⭕ Enable import/export to .xlsx and .csv formats with visible, auditable formulas. ⭕ Structure the codebase modularly for easy future extensions like customs duty tracking. ❓ Could you please share if you already have a preferred technology stack or are open to C# with .NET for this desktop solution? I am confident in delivering a user-friendly, offline Windows desktop app with precise landed cost calculations and a maintainable codebase. Best regards, Nam

Hello, I understand you need a standalone desktop application that calculates accurate landed costs for textile imports into the United States, combining tariffs, freight, insurance and operational costs into a single auditable workflow. The real solution here is not only calculating duties, but building a transparent calculation engine where tariff logic, freight estimation and adjustable operational costs remain fully traceable and easy to extend later. In my experience, many landed-cost tools become unreliable when tariff tables, textile HS-code handling and shipping formulas are hardcoded or difficult to audit. A modular architecture with editable cost layers generally keeps calculations accurate and future-proof. Your project is very similar to logistics and import-cost systems where customs duties, brokerage fees and freight variables must reconcile precisely with operational spreadsheets. I previously worked on desktop-based business applications involving Excel-style interfaces, cost-analysis engines, import/export workflows and financial calculation modules using Python and .NET technologies. One implementation included dynamic freight calculations, configurable tax rules and real-time margin analysis with XLSX/CSV interoperability. My preferred approach would be Python with PyInstaller or C#/.NET depending on your deployment preference, focusing on offline performance, transparent formulas and modular expansion capability. Thank you.

Two details stood out: the ±0.1% reconciliation bar against your spreadsheet, and the "no black-box logic" rule with all formulas auditable. Those are the right instincts for landed-cost work, and they shape how I'd build this. I'd start with day 1 spent matching your five-SKU sample exactly, then build outward from there. Here's the approach in C# .NET (WinForms or WPF, single .exe installer): 1. Calc engine first: tariff (HTS + country-of-origin lookup), freight by dims/weight/lane, plus an editable cost table for brokerage, drayage, inspection. Every formula lives in a visible rules file you can open in a text editor. 2. Excel-style grid UI with .xlsx and .csv import/export, textile HS code presets, and duty-free threshold alerts wired in. 3. Modular structure so a customs duty tracker (or any future module) plugs in without touching the core engine. I have shipped Stripe-billed multi-org SaaS with reconciliation logic where every line item had to tie back to source data within fractions of a cent, same discipline this needs. Done = your five sample SKUs reconcile within ±0.1% on first click of Calculate, with the rules file open next to it so you can audit any number. Do you want the HTS rates hard-coded from a snapshot you provide, or pulled from a live API (USITC / HTSA) with offline cache fallback? P.S. One gotcha most bidders miss: U.S. textile HTS lines often carry both an ad valorem and a specific-rate component (cents per kg), plus Section 301 China tariffs stack on top. The rules file needs to handle compound duties cleanly, otherwise your reconciliation will drift on anything sourced from China. Waqar

i’ve done very similar recently building a desktop costing tool in Python + PySide with HTS-based tariff logic, freight calculators, XLSX import/export, and offline audit-friendly formulas. Do you already have a preferred tariff source for HTS updates, or should the app ship with a maintained local tariff dataset? Will freight estimates use fixed tables or live carrier formulas converted into offline rules? I’d separate tariff, freight, and surcharge logic into modular calculation engines. That makes future customs modules easier without touching the UI layer. I’d also cache all reference tables locally in SQLite because offline performance and reproducibility matter more than API dependency here. First I’ll map your spreadsheet formulas and validate the textile-specific rules. Then I’ll build the calculation engine, Excel-style UI, and import/export flows with reconciliation tests. Final step is packaging, installer creation, and documentation for future extensions. Best, Dev S.

Hi, I’d build this as a Windows desktop app in Python + PyInstaller so you get a fast offline tool, a simple installer or single EXE, easy XLSX/CSV import-export, and fully auditable formulas rather than hidden logic. The tariff side can be driven from U.S. HTS data, since the Harmonized Tariff Schedule is the source for tariff rates and can be exported in machine-readable formats such as CSV, Excel, and JSON. For landed cost, the core formula is standard: product cost + freight + customs duties/taxes + insurance + handling/other fees, which fits your requirement for editable inspection, brokerage, drayage, and similar assumptions alongside tariff and freight values. For textiles specifically, I’d structure the app with presets for common HTS/fabric categories, editable cost tables, quota/threshold flags, and a modular rules engine so future customs-duty tracking can be added without rewriting the calculator core. The UI can be made spreadsheet-like and snappy on mid-range laptops, with transparent per-SKU calculation panels and export back to XLSX/CSV for audit and reconciliation.

Hello, After reviewing your project requirements, I fully understand the need for an offline Windows desktop app that calculates true landed cost for textile SKUs with transparent, auditable formulas. I have experience building desktop tools, Excel-style workflows, and data calculation systems, and I’m available to start immediately. I bring strong expertise in C#/.NET, Desktop Application Development, Excel import/export, Data Analysis, Data Management, and API-ready architecture. One of the key parts of this project is keeping tariff, freight, insurance, handling, brokerage, and editable cost assumptions synchronized so the landed cost per unit updates accurately in real time. My approach would be to build a clean Windows 10/11 app with an Excel-like grid, textile HS/HTS presets, editable cost tables, .xlsx/.csv import/export, and visible calculation logic so your team can audit every formula. I’d structure it modularly so future customs-duty or tracking modules can be added later. For the stack, I would recommend C#/.NET for a snappy native desktop UI and straightforward installer, though Python/PyInstaller is also possible. I have a couple of quick questions: • Will tariff rates be entered manually at first, or should the app support importing an HTS rate table? • Do you already have the freight/insurance formulas used in your current spreadsheet? Best regards, Carlos

Hello, I can build this as a standalone Windows desktop application with a clean Excel-style interface and fully transparent calculation logic. My recommended stack would be Python + PySide6 for the desktop UI with PyInstaller packaging, because it allows fast performance, easy offline deployment, and future modular expansion without licensing overhead. The app can be delivered as a single executable or installer for Windows 10/11. For tariff handling, I would implement a local HTS/tariff database layer so the application works completely offline. Textile-focused presets, quota alerts, and common HS code templates can be preloaded to speed up data entry. The architecture will keep tariff logic auditable and editable, with visible formulas and configurable rate tables instead of hidden calculations. For freight estimation, I will create a modular shipping engine where users can enter carton/container dimensions, weights, ports, insurance percentages, brokerage, drayage, inspection fees, and any custom landed-cost component. Every field will recalculate the per-unit landed cost instantly in real time. XLSX/CSV import-export support and reconciliation testing against your spreadsheet within the ±0.1% tolerance will also be included. Regarding your questions: The final delivery will include: • Compiled Windows application • Full well-commented source code • User guide/documentation • Sample dataset validation • Modular architecture for future customs/duty Best regards
