Examining Motor's Transient Response

Title: Transient Response of a Motor Procedure: 1). Referring to the connection diagram, place the modules needed in this experiment on the flat surface and connect them accordingly. 2). Set the frequency of the function generator (U-162) to 0.1 Hz 3). Turn the power of U-156 on. 4). Adjust U-151 to set the motor speed which is indicated on U-159 below saturation. 5). Adjust the gain of the oscilloscope for proper display on the screen. 6). Observe the trace on the oscilloscope. Measure the Δt for the transient response of the motor and note down in measurements table. 7). Turn the power off (U-156). Attach a 20g flywheel to the high-speed shaft of U-161. Turn the power on, observe the trace on the oscilloscope. Measure the Δt for the transient response of the motor with 20g flywheel attached and note down in measurements table. 8). Repeat step 7 for a 50g flywheel attached to the high-speed shaft of U-161. [Caution] When the motor is saturated, increasing the input voltage will not increase motor speed.
