If you don't know what a flow meter and a PLC is, please stop reading!! I will reject proposals if it's clear you don't have experience with a PLC or a flow meter. I realize this may have very few or no respondents but its better to not respond than to respond if your unsure.
I have attached a datasheet for a flow meter. This one is for beverages and will be hooked up to lines that are dispensing beverages.
This project will be done in stages and the first stage is just to capture all the data off one or more of these flow meters, up to 64 of them. The data off each flow meter needs to be collected so that all data is shown both historically and in realtime. All the data should be stored in a SQLite database for now. I believe data is coming from the flow meter only when fluid is flowing through it so it wont be much records.
To take on this project you have to :
1) Make a recommendation for a cost effective PLC that will hub 16 to 64 of these flowmeters. The PLC should have an Ethernet so we can get the data on an IP network and onto a server. Ideally this is a PLC you already have and are familiar with but if not, make a recommendation on which one for me to acquire.
2) You will program the PLC to preconfigure it for its maximum capacity of flow-meters and whenever data is sent, encapsulate it in packets for the IP network and transport to the server. Please note that this is an assumption and I I don't know exactly how this is done.
3) On a server you will collected the data from each flow-meter and write it to database.
4) That data must be displayed for up to 16,32 or 48 of these at the same time and a realtime chart.
Data comes off the meter many times per second ( I think 16-32 ) as long as fluid is flowing. I want to collect the data from each meter and sum the total of all the data into a single record, we can call a flow record. All data coming from a single meter would be considered accounting to the same flow record until a period of 3 or more seconds of the flow meter sending nothing again. All readings should be stored raw for each meter but only for debugging. The sum of all readings into one flow record is the more critical piece.
This is just the start of a bigger project that will last for months. I am keeping this somewhat vague so I can see the proposals and understand your understanding and see if you make some good assumptions and ask some good questions.
