I have experience in embedded systems and PCB design. I have built a smart locker system and also designed its complete PCB, including controller, communication, and hardware integration. I can also handle fabrication and ship the assembled PCB if needed. My Approach: I will start by creating a clean schematic in KiCad with ESP32, PN532 NFC, SD interface (via edge connector), and power section. Then I will carefully design the edge connector footprint and placement since it is the most critical part. After that, I will route SPI, power, and signals properly, keeping NFC antenna area clear and separating noisy and sensitive sections. I will also add display header, LEDs, and test points. Once layout is done, I will check everything and prepare it for manufacturing. Deliverables: • Complete KiCad project (schematic + PCB layout) • Gerber files • BOM • Edge connector recommendation • Basic assembly notes Everything will be simple, clean, and easy to understand so you can use it for future versions as well.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is a good fit for my workflow: take an early hardware concept and turn it into a clean, working KiCad prototype without overengineering it. Your brief is clear, and the two areas I’d treat as highest priority are the cartridge edge interface and the shared SPI architecture (SD + TFT + MCU) so the first prototype is reliable and easy to debug. What I can deliver: • Full KiCad schematic + PCB layout • Correct USB-C power-only input with solid 3.3V regulation • ESP32 / MCU integration with clear pin mapping • PN532 NFC section with practical antenna strategy • Robust edge connector recommendation + footprint + alignment • TFT display header/FPC routing • LEDs, cartridge detect, test points, and basic assembly notes • Gerbers + BOM ready for fabrication My approach: lock the MCU choice and bus mapping select the right commercial card-edge socket and confirm mechanics build the schematic cleanly for open-source release complete a practical PCB layout optimized for prototype bring-up A couple quick questions: • Do you want to use ESP32 as the main MCU, or Leonardo + ESP8266 exactly as written? • Is the cartridge connector definitely 2.54 mm pitch / 1.6 mm PCB, or still flexible? • Preferred display connector type: pin header or FPC? I can keep this prototype simple, readable, and buildable—the right base for future revisions.

✅✅✅ KiCad Embedded PCB Design Engineer (Prototype Systems) ✅✅✅ Hi there, I have strong experience designing compact KiCad PCBs for embedded systems combining MCU, SPI peripherals, NFC (PN532), and modular interfaces like edge connectors. I’ve delivered clean, prototype-ready boards with SD interfaces, displays, and robust power design for reliable bring-up. My approach is to create a clear schematic first, then a compact 2–4 layer layout with solid 3.3V regulation, SPI signal integrity, and careful placement of the NFC antenna near the cartridge zone. I’ll ensure a robust edge connector footprint, clean routing, test points, and full DFM-ready outputs (Gerbers, BOM, notes). A few questions: Do you prefer ESP32-WROOM or ATmega+ESP8266 combo? Any size constraints for the dock PCB? Should NFC use onboard antenna or external module? I am ready to start immediately. Best regards

Hi, This is a very interesting and well-structured hardware concept — I’d be excited to help bring the Tl Media Dock prototype to life. I have experience designing PCBs in KiCad and working with ESP32-based systems, SPI peripherals, and embedded hardware integration. Based on your requirements, I can design a clean and reliable prototype PCB covering: * ESP32-based control system (WiFi-ready, no need for separate ESP8266) * SD card interface via edge connector (SPI) * PN532 NFC integration with proper antenna placement considerations * SPI TFT display interface * USB-C power input with stable 3.3V regulation * Status LEDs and optional cartridge detection * Carefully designed edge connector footprint and signal mapping I will ensure: * clean schematic with proper labeling * well-routed PCB with good grounding and power integrity * manufacturable Gerber files * complete BOM and documentation I also understand that the edge connector interface is critical, and I will take extra care in recommending and implementing a suitable, reliable solution. Happy to collaborate, iterate, and refine the design based on your feedback. Looking forward to working with you.
