We have a battery powered device (16.8V lithium ion) with an on board microcontroller. If the battery falls below a critical level, as measured by the uC, it goes into sleep mode. We would also like a hardware low voltage protection circuit to prevent further discharge; ie 100% cutoff and zero current drain when the battery falls below 12 volts. The solar charging circuit needs to remain operational. When the battery voltage rises above 12V, the device should operate correctly as before.
The power part of the circuit is as attached.
PWR take off is for high current devices (pump) which takes up to 6 amps.
12V take off is for running sensors.
3V3 is for electronics.
Q7 provides current limited charging from PV; limited to 500mA.
Only the schematic is needed. We will take on the PCB design and testing here.
