Engineer for IoT Sensor PCB Design, DFM Review and Production Support. We are looking for an experienced electronics engineer / PCB designer to work with us on the development and production readiness of a small family of IoT sensor boards. The project is not just a one-off PCB task. We are looking for someone who can collaborate closely with our internal team, review existing board designs, improve them where needed, prepare them for manufacturing, and support the transition from prototype to small-batch production. The first task will be to review and refine an existing compact environmental sensor PCB. After that, we expect to work on approximately 4 to 5 additional sensor boards with similar requirements. The boards are small, low-voltage, sensor-oriented PCBs for IoT applications. They include digital sensor interfaces, connectors, basic protection components, test points, and manufacturing files. We need someone who can help us make the designs robust, manufacturable and production-ready. Scope of work: The selected engineer will help us with: Reviewing existing PCB designs and identifying electrical, layout, DFM and assembly issues. Improving schematics and PCB layouts where needed. Checking footprints, pinouts, libraries and component placement. Reviewing sensor placement, thermal/mechanical constraints and airflow considerations. Preparing production-ready files: Gerbers, drill files, BOM, pick-and-place, assembly drawings and fabrication notes. Validating BOM consistency, package sizes, part numbers and availability. Reviewing I2C/SPI sensor interfaces, pull-ups, protection components, connectors and test points. Advising on DFM/DFT for small-batch manufacturing. Preparing clear notes for PCB manufacturers and assembly houses. Supporting first prototype build, test and debugging. Helping define a repeatable workflow for future sensor boards. Required experience: We are looking for someone with solid experience in: PCB design for compact embedded / IoT devices. Low-voltage digital electronics, especially 3.3 V systems. Sensor boards and environmental sensing applications. I2C, SPI, UART and common embedded interfaces. DFM and DFA for professional PCB manufacturing. BOM preparation and component sourcing. Gerber, drill, IPC/netlist, pick-and-place and stencil files. Working with manufacturers such as JLCPCB, PCBWay, Seeed, Eurocircuits or similar. Reviewing manufacturer feedback and correcting production issues. Creating clear technical documentation. Experience with KiCad, Altium, EasyEDA, Flux or similar tools is welcome. Please mention which tools you normally use. Nice to have: The following experience would be especially valuable: Environmental sensors, gas sensors, air quality sensors or meteo sensors. Ultra-compact sensor board design. Low-power IoT devices. Design for outdoor or semi-outdoor sensor products. LoRa / BLE / WiFi IoT hardware. Sensor calibration or production testing. Experience preparing boards for small production runs. Expected deliverables For each board, we expect deliverables such as: Reviewed schematic. Reviewed or improved PCB layout. Corrected footprints and libraries where needed. Production-ready Gerber package. Drill files. BOM with real manufacturer part numbers. Pick-and-place file. Assembly notes. Fabrication notes. DFM checklist. Short review report with risks, corrections and recommendations. Collaboration style: We are looking for someone who can work directly with our team, communicate clearly, and explain technical decisions. We prefer a practical engineer who can balance quality, manufacturability, cost and speed. We do not need only a theoretical review. We need someone who can help us get the boards ready for real production. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working iteratively: review, comment, correct, prepare files, send to manufacturer, review feedback, and support prototype validation. Confidentiality Some project details will be shared only after selection and, if needed, under NDA. Please do not apply if you are not comfortable working with confidential product information. What to include in your proposal: Examples of compact PCB or IoT sensor boards you have designed. Your preferred PCB design tool. Your experience preparing files for PCB manufacturing and assembly. Your experience with sensor boards or low-power embedded devices. Your typical workflow from schematic review to production files. Your estimated availability over the next 4–8 weeks. Whether you prefer hourly work or milestone-based work. Skills: PCB Design Electronics Electrical Engineering Embedded Systems KiCad Altium Designer IoT Sensor Design Circuit Design Product Design Manufacturing Design BOM Gerber DFM

Hi there, A sensor-board family lives or dies in the seams between layout, firmware bring-up, and production test — that’s where small-batch IoT stalls. Why me? • 5 years building production ESP32 IoT devices, including bring-up against compact sensor PCBs. • Hands-on with I2C, SPI and UART sensor interfaces, pull-up sizing and protection from real debug work. • Firmware, backend and deployment delivered under one roof for the digital side of each board. • Response within 5 minutes during work hours and daily progress updates. • 2 weeks free post-project support on firmware deliverables. Worth a short call to confirm whether you need a PCB lead or a firmware-side partner.

Hello, I understand you need an experienced PCB engineer to review and improve an existing compact IoT environmental sensor board and then support the design and production readiness of 4–5 additional low-power sensor PCBs. The focus is on DFM/DFA, manufacturability, BOM accuracy, and preparing reliable production-ready hardware rather than just schematic review. I can carefully audit your existing sensor PCB, identifying electrical, layout, thermal, and manufacturability issues, then refine the schematic and PCB layout for robustness and cost-efficient production. This includes correcting footprints, validating I2C/SPI/UART interfaces, improving sensor placement and signal integrity, reviewing power design for 3.3V low-power operation, and ensuring all components are suitable and available for manufacturing. I will also prepare full production outputs including Gerbers, drill files, BOM with real part numbers, pick-and-place files, assembly drawings, and a clear DFM report with risks and recommendations. For the next boards, I can help you establish a consistent design workflow so each sensor board is production-ready from the start, reducing iteration cycles with manufacturers like JLCPCB or PCBWay and ensuring smooth prototype-to-production transition. Thanks, Asif

Best IoT Sensor PCB Design Expert! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dear Client, The biggest risk in this project is not completing the PCB design. It is moving into manufacturing with sensor boards that technically function but still contain hidden DFM, grounding, thermal, footprint, or assembly issues that create instability, inconsistent sensor readings, or expensive production revisions later. That is where practical production-oriented engineering matters. I would approach this by: 1. reviewing your existing schematics and PCB layouts for electrical integrity, manufacturability, sensor placement, thermal behavior, and assembly reliability 2. validating footprints, connector pinouts, BOM consistency, I²C/SPI interfaces, protection circuitry, and test-point accessibility to eliminate avoidable prototype risks This keeps the first production revision focused on dependable field performance, manufacturing stability, and smoother assembly instead of costly redesign cycles. Two quick questions: 1. Are the current sensor boards already fabricated prototypes or still in the design-review stage before first manufacturing? 2. Which PCB design environment are you currently using for the existing projects—KiCad, Altium, EasyEDA, or another platform? If you message me, I can outline the production-review and DFM workflow I would use to help make the sensor boards robust, manufacturable, and scalable for future revisions. Best regards, Prat PCB Must Innovations
