If you didn't bother to read this description before you replied, then I do not want you on the project. I am interested in monitoring the temperature of an oil bath cooling system based on hours and temperature. I am looking to use a PT100 thermocouple (perhaps analog with a 0-5v output) to a microcontroller. (perhaps a PIC 16F887 or something else reccommended) through a temperature sensor such as an LM35. I have 110vac power supply that will have transformed power at any voltage required. In addition to the temperature, there will be a pressure transmitter ( perhaps like a Honeywell PX2 series) that will signal when the equipment is on. The microcontroller will have a touchscreen interface (perhaps like a 2" TFT Display module as in the attached datasheet). A storage device to maintain daily record of date & temperature needs to be maintained for a period of 1year.
A functional description is being worked on. However the basics will be that THM-01 will monitor the temperature of the oil. THM-02 will measure the ambient air conditions. PT-01 will monitor pressure to activate a timer that counts down hours off a given number internally. As conditions in THM-01 change, the output to the screen will change in accordance with a set of predetermined formulas in the program. The storage device will maintain the recorded temps. A sampling rate of 12 times per hour will be used in the process. It will be possible that 72k recorded data points be stored in the system before it is cleared. Various outputs to the screen will be made based on the condition on THM-01. Example would be that the graphics on the screen turn from blue to red as the temperature rises. In an upset condition determined by the firmware a simple signal will be sent to a PLC, I am thinking a switch with a binary condition. C++ will be used in this project.
There is more to discuss, but Most will be covered in the functional description.
UPDATE: We have discovered an error in the math functions necessary to facilitate the programming. We are working through this, but we may have to re-post this project.
