Modbus RTU Slave in python using Modbus-TK or PyModbus with manual tx-enable

Job Description:
I am in need of a Modbus RTU slave for a Raspberry pi that uses a Modbus RS485 device with manual tx-enable.
It just has to set the output high before it sends the reply and low when it listens. There will be multiple slaves so will have to reference a device ID. I am sure this can be implemented in pymodbus or modbus-tk.
The callback functions in pymodbus should do it but I am unable to find an example that works.
