I need a specialist to build the core firmware. The brain of the machine is an STM32 MCU and it must coordinate three key subsystems—motors, heaters, and fans—through a pair of Trinamic drivers (TMC2209 and TMC5160). Your code will run in Embedded C/C++, parse incoming G-code, and translate it into smooth motion and reliable temperature control while guarding against every fault scenario a printer can face. Here is the scope in practical terms: • Motion: drive multiple stepper axes with proper acceleration/deceleration, junction deviation, and micro-stepping using the two Trinamic driver families. • Temperature: read NTC thermistors, run a well-tuned PID loop for hotend and bed, manage cooling fans, and shut everything down on thermal runaway. • Safety & protection: brown-out detection, open-thermistor handling, stallGuard/over-current responses, and a watchdog that will reset safely on any unrecoverable error. • G-code pipeline: interpret the common commands used by slicers (Marlin-style dialect is fine), queue them efficiently, and keep the motion planner fed without stalling. • Diagnostics: serial/USB console with real-time status reports and a minimal command set for calibration and field updates. Deliverable: a fully-documented firmware project (HAL, drivers, and application layer) that compiles in the latest STM32CubeIDE, ready to flash and run on my prototype board. I will confirm acceptance once the printer completes a 24-hour bench print with all safety interlocks proven. If you have shipped motion-control firmware before, especially on STM32, let’s talk specifics and get this printer pushing plastic.

Hi, I can develop the STM32 Embedded C/C++ firmware for your 3D-printer controller, including TMC2209/TMC5160 integration, multi-axis motion control, acceleration/deceleration, G-code parsing and queue management. I can also implement NTC temperature sensing, PID control for hotend/bed, fan control, thermal-runaway protection, thermistor fault detection, over-current/stall handling, watchdog recovery and brown-out safety. The firmware will be structured into HAL, hardware drivers, motion/temperature control and application layers, with a serial/USB diagnostic interface and calibration/update commands. I can deliver a clean, documented STM32CubeIDE project ready to compile and flash on your prototype hardware. Please provide the STM32 MCU/board details, pin mapping, TMC2209/TMC5160 configuration and thermistor/heater specifications so I can verify the architecture and start implementation.

As a fellow enthusiast in Engineering and Computer Sciences, I have developed a substantial skill set in C and C++ programming, making me an ideal fit for this project. While I may be a student, my passion for learning has led me to spend years honing my coding proficiency. This dedication aligns perfectly with your need for someone skilled in C/C++ programming, which I believe will be paramount to efficiently parse your machine's G-code. Although I haven't specifically shipped motion-control firmware on STM32 before, my solid understanding of microcontrollers combined with my previous experience demonstrate my adaptability to new platforms and dynamic problem-solving. My ability to drive multiple stepper axes, manage temperatures through PID loops, and handle complex fault scenarios (like you require) on embedded systems attest to my potential. Lastly, but importantly, is my commitment to delivering quality work. I approach every project as an opportunity to give it my all. Being a perfectionist enables me to ensure that the firmware I create not only meets requirements but also aligns with industry standards. I am excited about your project and would relish the chance to bring your printer to life successfully! So why wait? Let's get started together!
