I have a production-level, ESP32-based board that measures high voltage and current through external sensors feeding an ADC. Right now each unit is hand-calibrated; the engineer sits, pushes test points, captures raw data, tweaks offsets, and repeats. That data-collection loop is the real bottleneck, and across different PCB batches the results still drift. I want to collapse the calibration window from minutes to seconds while tightening unit-to-unit consistency and, ultimately, moving toward a batch-level or fully automated station. You’ll start by reviewing the existing schematic, BOM, and firmware repo (Arduino IDE/C/ESP-IDF). With that context, I need concrete, production-ready recommendations—whether that means selecting a higher-resolution ADC, adding reference components, adjusting sensor front-end scaling, building self-test routines in firmware, or scripting an automated jig that pushes coefficients over UART. Deliverables—kept lean and practical: • Written design review highlighting hardware or layout changes that directly speed calibration and improve linearity/offset repeatability. • A firmware patch or example module that captures calibration data on-device, computes coefficients, and stores them to NVS with minimal operator input. • A brief test plan I can hand to production that shows the new flow, expected timing, and pass/fail thresholds. The solution has to work on the floor, not just in the lab, so please lean on your past sensor-calibration and embedded-manufacturing experience when proposing changes.

I can help you turn calibration from a manual, unit-by-unit bottleneck into a fast, repeatable, production-ready process for your ESP32-based measurement board. I will start with a focused review of your existing schematic, BOM, layout, and firmware to identify the specific sources of drift and variability, then propose concrete hardware and firmware changes—such as ADC and reference improvements, front-end scaling adjustments, and on-device self-calibration routines—that directly improve linearity and offset repeatability. On the firmware side, I will deliver a practical calibration module that captures data automatically, computes coefficients on-board, and stores them in NVS via a UART-driven or jig-based workflow, reducing operator involvement to seconds. Finally, I’ll provide a clear, shop-floor-ready test plan outlining the new calibration flow, timing expectations, and pass/fail criteria, grounded in real-world experience with sensor calibration and embedded manufacturing, not just lab prototypes.

Hello, I’m interested in helping you streamline and harden the calibration process for your ESP32 measurement board so it becomes faster, more consistent, and practical for production use. I understand the main issue is the manual data-collection loop and unit drift between PCB batches. My focus will be on reducing calibration time while improving repeatability through a mix of hardware review, firmware support, and a simple production flow. What I will deliver Design review of your schematic, BOM, and current approach with practical suggestions to improve linearity, offset stability, and calibration speed (ADC choice, reference stability, front-end scaling, layout considerations). Firmware example/module that: Captures calibration points directly on the device Computes coefficients automatically Stores results to NVS with minimal operator steps Simple production test plan describing the new calibration flow, expected timing, and clear pass/fail checks that can be used on the floor. The goal is to move from a manual, engineer-driven process to a repeatable, semi-automated or fully automated calibration routine that works reliably across batches. I’m ready to review your files and propose concrete, production-ready improvements. Best regards, Wira Pranata

Hi, I am a Test Development Engineer by trade, so the automation of PCBA testing and writing test specifications and instructions is part of my daily workflow. Most test fixtures I have designed need to take voltage, current, resistance, and frequency measurements from multiple points using one set of equipment, and I have encountered in the past needing to use formulas to take measurements - both measured and ADC - to calculate slope and offset, then write values to the onboard EEPROM via I2C, SPI, etc., using an Arduino. While bidding is still open, I would be willing to look at your documentation and give a brief proposal. If you agree with the general overview and accept, I will then produce a detailed plan for improving the speed and reliability of this part of the production process. If Gerber files of the PCBA are provided, I can also potentially produce a design for a bed-of-nails fixture to move towards full automation. Finally, after the improvements and changes are signed off, I will produce accompanying documentation. Thank you for your consideration, and have a good day. DISCLAIMER: In the interests of transparency and so you can select the right person for the job, I do have a full-time position, so this job would be carried out Monday - Thursday evenings and weekends. Seven days is an estimate and may change depending on if revisions are required.
