I’m building a proof-of-concept that lets an ESP32 watch four household-appliance plugs, detect when any one of them draws power, and immediately hit a specific URL over Wi-Fi. Scope • Each plug must be monitored independently. • For every event I need to log power consumption and, as an extra data point, the real-time voltage level. • As soon as a plug’s load goes above a configurable threshold the firmware should perform an HTTP/HTTPS GET (or POST if that’s easier) to the URL I provide, passing the plug ID, watts, and voltage in the query/body. • Connection details (SSID, password, endpoint URL, thresholds) should be editable in code and preferably via a simple serial menu or captive portal. Deliverables 1. Well-commented ESP32 firmware 2. Schematic and parts list showing how you sense current and voltage for four mains outlets safely 3. Brief setup guide so I can flash, wire, and test the prototype on my bench. Acceptance criteria The job is complete when I can power up the board, connect it to my Wi-Fi, plug in a household device, see voltage and wattage reported correctly, and watch the HTTP call arrive with the right JSON/query string.

Hi, I can develop a complete ESP32-based proof of concept that independently monitors 4 household appliance outlets and instantly sends an HTTP/HTTPS request when a load exceeds a configurable threshold. The solution will measure real-time voltage, current, and power consumption for each outlet, then transmit the plug ID, voltage, and wattage to your specified endpoint using either GET or POST requests. Wi-Fi credentials, API URL, and trigger thresholds will be configurable in code, with a simple serial menu or captive portal for easy setup. Deliverables: • Well-commented ESP32 firmware • Independent monitoring for 4 outlets • Real-time voltage and power measurement • HTTP/HTTPS notification system • Configurable thresholds and network settings • Safe current and voltage sensing schematic • Complete BOM and component recommendations • Setup, flashing, and testing guide You'll receive all source files and documentation needed to assemble, configure, and test the prototype. The project will be considered complete once the device can connect to Wi-Fi, detect appliance activity, accurately report voltage and power usage, and successfully deliver the required HTTP payload to your server. I have experience with ESP32, IoT firmware, power-monitoring circuits, and API integrations, and can deliver a reliable, expandable solution suitable for further product development.

I read your smart plug brief and this is exactly the kind of tight, focused build I handle routinely. Ten years of embedded work means I can take you from a blank page to a working prototype without the back-and-forth that kills small projects. I'll design the custom PCB, write the ESP firmware, and get the relay and metering logic running cleanly—all under one roof, no handoffs. I've shipped production IoT hardware like a solar-powered water vending machine for a remote desert community, where every component had to work reliably with zero margin for error. That same discipline applies here. You get a functional prototype with proper power handling and wireless stability, not a breadboard experiment. Let's get this built.

Hi there, I have read your project requirement, you need an ESP32-based solution to independently monitor four household appliance plugs, measure power consumption and voltage, and trigger an HTTP/HTTPS request whenever a configurable load threshold is exceeded. You need safe and reliable current and voltage sensing, configurable Wi-Fi and endpoint settings, and well-structured firmware that provides accurate event reporting and easy prototype setup. We can deliver a complete proof-of-concept including ESP32 firmware, schematic and BOM, current/voltage sensing circuitry for four outlets, configurable thresholds, and a simple serial menu or captive portal for updating Wi-Fi credentials and endpoint URLs. Could you please confirm: ======================= What mains voltage standard will be used (110V or 220–240V)? Do you prefer GET requests with query parameters or JSON payloads via POST? Is local data logging required in addition to HTTP notifications? Do you have preferred current sensing modules (e.g., SCT-013, ACS712, PZEM-004T), or should we recommend suitable components? Hi, I can build the ESP32 smart plug prototype firmware and provide the schematic/parts list for safely monitoring four independent household appliance plugs. The best solution is to use isolated current/voltage sensing modules or properly protected metering IC/modules for each outlet, then have the ESP32 read power/voltage values, compare each plug against configurable thresholds, and trigger an HTTP/HTTPS GET or POST to your endpoint with plug ID, watts, and voltage. I’m comfortable with ESP32 firmware, Arduino/ESP-IDF, Wi-Fi connectivity, HTTP/REST calls, current sensing, voltage monitoring, threshold logic, serial configuration menus, captive portal setup, home automation prototypes, and embedded debugging. Deliverables will include: * Well-commented ESP32 firmware * Four-channel plug monitoring logic * Configurable SSID, password, endpoint, and thresholds * HTTP/HTTPS event trigger * Power/voltage logging * Schematic and parts list * Safe wiring notes for mains sensing * Flashing and bench test guide I’ll prioritize electrical safety by recommending isolated sensing and proper mains separation, since this involves household AC loads. Hello, I can help with this ESP32-based mains monitoring PoC. I work in embedded hardware and firmware development, including ESP32, PCB design, sensor interfacing, and IoT systems. Recently I also designed a battery-powered smartwatch, so I’m comfortable with low-power embedded hardware, compact PCB design, and reliable firmware integration. For this project, I can develop both the firmware and hardware needed to monitor 4 appliance channels independently, measure voltage/current, estimate power usage, and trigger an HTTP/HTTPS request as soon as a channel crosses a configurable threshold. I can also make Wi-Fi credentials, endpoint URL, and thresholds configurable in code, and if needed add a simple serial menu for setup. I can provide: * ESP32 firmware for 4-channel monitoring and event reporting * Schematic and BOM for safe mains voltage/current sensing * HTTP/HTTPS GET/POST with plug ID, watts, and voltage * Configurable thresholds and network settings * Setup guide for flashing, wiring, and bench testing I have hands-on experience with embedded testing, debugging, and practical hardware implementation, so I can help build a proof-of-concept that is not just functional in firmware, but also realistic and safe from a hardware perspective. If you’d like, I can also suggest the sensing architecture I’d use for the 4 mains channels before starting. Best regards, Anjali

Hi! I build ESP32 firmware regularly — current/voltage sensing, Wi-Fi event triggers, real-time data pipelines. I recently built an ESP32-CAM tracking rig where one ESP32 handled detection and a second handled actuation over a custom HTTP endpoint, so the "sense something → fire an HTTP call" pattern in this project is familiar territory for me. My approach: Current sensing via SCT-013 split-core sensors per outlet (non-invasive, no mains wiring broken — safer for you to retrofit existing plugs). One ZMPT101B for voltage, with synchronized ADC sampling so wattage is true RMS, not just current × nominal voltage. FreeRTOS task per channel so all four plugs are monitored independently, no blocking between them. Wi-Fi creds, thresholds, and endpoint URL configurable via a serial menu, stored in NVS so they persist across reboots. HTTPS GET/POST firing on threshold breach with plug ID, watts, and voltage in the payload. I'll also include a quick calibration step (known load → adjust scale factor) so your wattage readings are actually accurate rather than estimated from a datasheet. Deliverables: commented firmware, schematic + BOM with safety notes for working near mains, and a setup/test guide matching your acceptance criteria exactly. Available to start immediately.
