HAPPYMAT. Hi, I am an embedded systems engineer with over 16 years of experience developing physical electronic products, embedded firmware, sensor interfaces, wireless connectivity, and hardware/firmware integration. One relevant prototype I personally helped build was an ESP32-based connected sensing device with pressure inputs, addressable RGB LEDs, a digital display, Wi-Fi/BLE communication, and audio peripherals. I developed the C/C++ firmware, integrated and calibrated the sensors, implemented LED/display control and wireless communication, prepared the wiring documentation, and supported board bring-up, soldering, debugging, and full-system testing. The project cannot be shared publicly because of confidentiality obligations, but I can show supporting photos or video privately where permitted. For HappyMat, I can take ownership of the embedded controller and firmware, integrate the listed peripherals, coordinate closely with the IoT/interface engineer, and troubleshoot issues through prototype testing. I will provide organized source code, build configurations, pin mappings, and wiring/integration information. I can also advise on hardware improvements and production readiness as the prototype develops. I am comfortable signing an NDA and participating reliably in team integration. Has the ESP32 variant, display, pressure sensor, and camera/audio hardware already been selected? Please contact me to discuss details.

The brief is clear; I’d prove the critical path first, then expand from working evidence. For a Firmware Engineer for HappyMat Prototype, the hard part is balancing sensor scanning accuracy, battery life, Bluetooth/SIM fallback, and OTA-ready embedded reliability. My approach would be to validate the sensor matrix and power budget first, then design the acquisition PCB, embedded firmware, connectivity fallback, and OTA/admin controls in staged prototypes. Quick question: Which external integrations are absolutely required for MVP, and which can be staged after launch? Also, what is already available for Firmware Engineer for HappyMat Prototype: a working codebase, designs, data, or only the brief? Best, Dr. Syafiq

I've successfully developed similar embedded systems for IoT devices requiring real-time sensor fusion and wireless connectivity, including a project that managed addressable LED arrays and a small digital display for user feedback. My approach to the HappyMat prototype will leverage this experience to ensure robust and efficient firmware. My technical strategy will involve using an ESP32-S3 microcontroller due to its integrated Wi-Fi, ample processing power, and GPIO capabilities. I'll develop the firmware in C/C++ using the ESP-IDF framework, focusing on a modular design. This will include drivers for the pressure sensors (e.g., FSRs interfaced via an ADC), a dedicated library for controlling the addressable LEDs (e.g., WS2812B), and a driver for the digital display (e.g., I2C-based OLED). The Wi-Fi implementation will focus on a stable connection for potential future data logging or over-the-air updates. To best align with your immediate needs, could you clarify the specific type and resolution of the pressure sensors you're considering? Also, what are the primary communication protocols expected for the Wi-Fi integration? I'm eager to discuss how my expertise can rapidly bring the HappyMat prototype to life.

HAPPYMAT Hi, Bojan here, from Serbia. Building your firmware for HappyMat prototype with Bluetooth is doable; what matters most is a device that behaves the same in the field as on the bench. I'm a senior embedded and electronics engineer with 8+ years of experience working with Embedded Systems, Bluetooth, Microcontroller and Electronics. For your firmware, the real challenge is timing, power and real conditions. A common issue: testing only on the bench, so problems appear once the device runs in real conditions. My plan: first, review the schematic, pin map and timing requirements. Then, write the firmware in small modules, each tested on the board. Finally, test on the real hardware under load, power loss and bad signal. I've done firmware work in Bluetooth, so I check early for timing issues and power drops. A few questions to better understand the scope: 1. Should firmware update over the air? That needs a safe bootloader planned from the start. 2. Log raw readings during testing? I'd recommend it, to compare against a reference. 3. Is this heading to production after the prototype? Then parts and code stay ready for production. I can start right away. Happy to go over the details here in chat and suggest the best approach. Looking forward to hearing from you, Bojan

HAPPYMAT I can contribute to HappyMat Prototype #1 by developing reliable embedded firmware around an ESP32-class controller, integrating pressure/presence sensing, addressable RGB/RGBW LEDs, display control, Wi-Fi, BLE, and coordinated camera, speaker, and microphone interfaces. My approach would emphasize a clean hardware-abstraction layer, modular device drivers, robust event/state handling, communication diagnostics, and integration-ready source code. I would also support wiring validation, soldering and electronics troubleshooting, bench testing, and systematic debugging across the controller and connected peripherals. For a physical prototype, I have worked on connected embedded hardware where I contributed to the controller firmware, sensor and peripheral integration, wireless communications, device behavior, and integration testing. I can provide relevant project evidence and document the resulting firmware configuration, source code, interfaces, and wiring information as required. I’m comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, working under NDA, communicating consistently, and resolving issues during prototype integration. The goal would be a dependable, well-documented firmware foundation that the broader HappyMat team can test and extend confidently. Available to begin with the architecture and hardware interface review.

Hello, I'm an embedded engineer working mainly with ESP32 / ESP-IDF on real, physical products: custom PCBs, bring-up, sensors, displays, wireless, and field debugging. Your Prototype #1 scope (controller, pressure/presence sensing, addressable LEDs, display, Wi-Fi/BLE, camera/audio support) is very close to the work I do every week. One physical product I personally helped build: Jacuzzi / Spa Controller (ESP32, deployed in the field) This is an ESP32-based controller for a commercial spa system. It is installed, commissioned, and running on-site, not a bench demo. My contribution was the complete controller firmware (ESP-IDF 5.x, currently in its third major version): I/O and actuators: 16-channel DI/DO relay module control for pumps, heaters, and valves. Sensor integration: 4–20 mA analog inputs, plus Modbus RTU sensors for pH, ORP, temperature, turbidity, EC/TDS, and flow. This included polling, timeouts, fault detection, and sensor-loss handling. Display / HMI: LVGL-based touch screens for operators, covering live readings, setpoints, alarms, and manual control. Connectivity: Wi-Fi telemetry and RPC to a ThingsBoard backend, paired with a Flutter mobile owner app (Android/iOS) that I also built. Field support: When the site reports a fault (for example, an output that won't switch on), I trace the root cause across wiring, I/O module, and firmware, ship the fix, and write operator instructions. Best regards, XinTian Li

HAPPYMAT. On Prototype #1 I would bring up the controller firmware around pressure/presence sensing, addressable LED patterns, and the digital display, then deliver source and wiring notes for the joint integration. My hardware firmware is C/C++ on RP2040 with sensors and drive control, so simultaneous Wi-Fi plus BLE and the camera, speaker, and mic path are a gap I have not closed. Which radio and display bus are already committed on the board?
