Sono un ingegnere elettronico italiano con oltre 20 anni di esperienza lavorativa. Lavoro come progettista HW e sviluppatore FW. Per il tuo progetto utilizzerei un ESP32 (che ha Wi-Fi integrato; ho già avuto esperienza in passato e confermo che il Wi-Fi di ESP32 funziona bene). Non andrei a complicare il sistema con Linux Embedded (Raspberry e similari) perché non vedo vantaggi. Se il requisito fondamentale è il Wi-Fi, potremmo iniziare a sviluppare qualcosa usando una delle tante demoboard di ESP32. Come progettista HW, lavoro con KiCad e Altium e ho esperienza nella progettazione di schede con singolo MCU (Microchip PIC, ARM Cortex, ESP32) con diversi I/O digitali (GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, PWM, ...) e alcuni I/O analogici. Come sviluppatore FW, lavoro abitualmente in C con Eclipse + GNU ARM GCC per diversi produttori di ARM Cortex M0/M0+/M3/M4/M33 (STM32Fx, NXP, EFM32/EFR32 SiLabs, Nordic nRF5x, ma sono pronto ad apprendere nuovi framework). Ho anche una buona esperienza con ESP32 nel framework "esp-idf". Scrivo codice per la gestione a basso livello dei driver (GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, PWM, ...), a livello intermedio (driver per sensori, MEMS, memorie, fuel gauge, display, ...) e per applicazioni ad alto livello/finali, per bootloader e per OTA. Ho una grande esperienza nella comunicazione cloud con protocolli MQTT/MQTTs (FreeRTOS MQTTCore)/AWS (AWS IoT Core)/Azure e HTTP/HTTPs (per SSL ho una solida conoscenza della libreria mbedTLS).
