We do NOT need a production version, just something workable and then we can do refinements. Prefer you use as much off the shelf hinges, gimbals, bearings, etc. as possible...device should have material costs of under $100.00
Need to make wearable device PROTOTYPE to restrain arms with a locking mechanism installed on wearer's back (preferably) or shoulder....if you have seen exoskeletons, desired device is similar but NO lifting assistance is required. We want to restrain a wearer's arm on each side of the body by use of a lock mounted on each the shoulders.
I have tried many ways but too much slack or loose fit of devices allows too much freedom of movement of arms even though shoulder implement locks the arms...plus gimbal lock problems using various hinges and multi-directional sockets ....we can integrate the device into off the shelf motocross vest (we have a baseball umpire vest also that would work) of some kind if necessary to get better stability
This video is close to what is desired, but needs a way to lock the sliding bars from a locking device mounted on the shoulder. above the sliding bars:

So the sliding part of this gets locked from above with a hand pushing down on the lock (two locks, each mounted on one shoulder) and this locking restrains the wearer's arm at the bicep/tricep...
note on the comau device video the arms slide while lock is not engaged, this function would have to be arrested, the arms need to be contained only after the lock happens...and then be easily released
