What I manually do now and needs to be automatically done:
- open my main file;
- open several other files called "target files" (similar files, data is different);
- copy row21 from each of the files and "paste special" it in the main file. repeat with each of the "target files". close target files. Open the next ones. repeat.
Need to do this without opening the files (less time) if possible. If not, only auto.
So I will need a simple macro that will copy the same row from different .ods files and paste it "special" in the main file, always in the same sheet but in the next empty row. I must be able to select the "target files" so I can remember which files I already processed. (using like a button which allows me to select and open multiple files - multiple means 10 at once)
"target files" =files from which I copy row21
"main file" =file where I paste
Copy always row21 from sheet named "basketball stats"
Paste will be made in sheet3 of the main file starting with the 9th row. Paste special, only "text" and "numbers" checked. (MAIN file attached here already has the data from the 5 target files, as an example).
