I need help with a fairly simple project. I need you to design a simple database or spreadsheet where I can store some data.
Here's the gist of the project:
Let's say I am a CD store and people borrows CDs from me. Based on past watching habit, I want to suggest similar movies (there are two criteria: lead actor and genre; and i want to suggest two separate lists). Now I can use a spreadsheet and store lender information in a single row:
lender number, lender name, address, past rentals etc. But now I want to suggest similar movies (10 based on the same genre, and 5 based on same lead actors etc.). Now in Excel, I am not sure how I can add these two separate movie suggestion lists where I can store multiple movie name (one for genre; one for actor). I need to be able to search and retrieve this data for easy access.
I know Excel has its limitation and if needed we can use Access. But the people who'll be using this database has limitation using technology and we don't want to write sql queries to retrieve data. You are not expected to do any data entry just design a simple database. We want to be able to search a borrower and see what movies/items we suggested them in the past based on their previous rental.
