121385 FireFox Flash Glitch

My company is working with a client on a project called "Flash Flip Book Ad". In this project, we are creating a flash page flip movie and the flip will show a XML page underneath. That XML page will be the ad. This is new idea that was started up by CornerPeelAd ([url removed, login to view]). A better alternative than annoying users with pop-up windows (a lot cleaner too - no spyware, malware, etc).

Anyway my designer has done an excellent job on flash flip. Technically speaking the project is done. There is one small issue that needs to be addressed, and for the life of me I can't seem to figure out the solution.

The work as be seen here:

Now for the flip, my client wanted to see actual content (text, graphics and stuff) underneath similar to CornerPeelAd.com. My designer used a flash template with clickable content and embedded the flip with it. It works perfectly.

Now here's the problem....

The client states that the links that fall below the flash movie are unclickable in Mozilla Firefox 2.0. In Internet Explorer the links are clickable.

I have touched base with my designer he says that everything is working fine. I have no problem clicking on the links in FireFox. Basically the problem the client is having is that he is getting no reaction when he hovers his mouse pointer over the links (e.g. BUY, SELL, MY PROFILE, COMMUNITY, REGISTER, HELP, and Product Search drop down menu).

The screenshot file "[url removed, login to view]" clearly shows what I'm talking about from the client's point of view.

Now everything works perfectly when you turn off "Javascript Enabled" in the Option menu. But on the downside, you lose the flash flip, which is what we don't want in the first place.

While writing this project, I thought just occurred to me. It could also be the flash movie for the flip. The size of the movie may be preventing the XHTML elements on the page from functioning the way they should.

My business partner believes that we are overlooking something. I need to know what that is. He also suggested that the client clears his cache, as his browser may be referring to an older page or that it might be an issue with CSS coding.

Here are some URLs my client reasearched on this issue:

The solution to this problem can be found here, it needs some special javascript implementation (this problem needs to be tweaked a bit):

You will be a lifesaver if you can solve this problem.

Happy bidding!!
