This project calls for a flash application that will mimic one tool functionality of Photoshop using a mix of "flood fill" (paint bucket) and "fill with texture" for segments or line divisions. The user will be able to pick from a list of black and white vector designs/drawings. The user will also be able to pick from a list of textures, then be able to fill partitions of the drawing with the color they have chosen. The program must also offset the texture so that the same area of the image/texture is not used in each segment (please refer to the mock-up in the attached files).
The line design drawings are in vector format, making it easier to detect the shapes and apply shapes of color. Some test vectors have also been included in the attached files.
The program must also have a submit button which will essentially grab the flash data, make an image of it (make an image of what the user is seeing), then send it through email, or just upload it to the server (which ever is easiest).
Deliverables must include:
Relatively easy way to load and remove new designs in the list (from the code or external folder/xml?).
Relatively easy way to load and remove new textures to the list (from the code or external folder/xml?).
Fairly well commentated Actionscript.
Can use Actionscript 2.0/3.0.
Functionality of the "submit/send" button.
The "fills" must overlap nicely with the line objects, meaning no "jagged white" lines in between the colors and the lines.
No design of the application needs to be done; however, the dialogs that choose the designs and colors need to function properly - this project is more about the overall functionality, not how it looks necessarily.
What I have in mind is using AS 3.0 with xml for fills. I will save the resulting image on server. If you have any question feel free to let me know.
