I have a set of Deccan sofas that I want to bring back to showroom condition. The project centres on full-scale upholstery work and I’ve decided on a rich velvet finish for every piece. Alongside that fresh fabric, the frames need structural repair to eliminate any wobble and the exposed wood deserves a meticulous round of polishing and finishing so the overall look is seamless. Here’s how I see the workflow: • Structural repair – tighten joints, replace or reinforce any weak timber. • Reupholstering – strip the old material, add fresh padding where required, and fit the new velvet with clean, even stitching. • Polishing & finishing – sand, stain (if needed), and apply a durable clear coat to all visible wood so it matches the renewed upholstery. I’ll supply colour swatches of the velvet once we agree on the shade; hardware, tacks, and finishing products can be included in your proposal or itemised separately. Final acceptance will be based on firmness of the repaired frame, wrinkle-free fabric application, and a smooth, dust-free wood finish.
