The protagonist is 24 years old. The setting starts in a home while he is laying down on the bed and looking at the ceiling. He is looking at the cracks on the ceiling and sees a small caterpillar crawling around the water drains. At this time, he could hear his stepfather and stepmother fighting next door. The walls are thin. You could make up an argument about why they were fighting. His stepmother is a christian and his stepfather is not. While his stepmother is a caring mother his stepfather is an abusive alcoholic. The main theme about the story is that the protagonist lost his hope on god when he lost his parents in a car accident when he was 17 years old. Remember during a car accident everything slows down. Remember add details in the story that will capture the character. The arrangement is completely up to you. You could make up an solid argument about how the car accident happened ( for example the alcoholic father wanted to drive and the mother couldn't stop that) the boy survives from the car accident. And as soon as he gets out of the car he sees a boat just on the side of the river and there is a fisherman looking straight at him. Describe the blood, the engine, the car crash. The boy, knowing that his parents are gone sits on the soil and gazes at the moon, like a noncturnal animal trying to find hope in the black side of the earth. Afterwards a couple who wanted to watch the moonlight with a bottle of champagne sees the car accident and calls 000. After his parents death a family adopts the boy, not being happy he has only one person left who is his best friend diagnosed with leukemia. I want you to create a set of events which is going to change the perception of the protagonist about god. You can use this; he goes to a train station to take the train, the train station empty. He sits down on a bench and then hears heavy footsteps coming from the back. An old man with blue ripped jeans, scruffy hair sits next to him and starts reading the bible. Make a change in the character. Remember the character is a nonbeliver at first, create events that will set out conflicts.
