I would like to create a very basic desktop script that can do a few basic things which I will bind to a shortcut key on my custom keypad. Its meant to streamline my workflow, as I have to do the following 1000+ times a day.
0. I will select a string of text in Chrome, then
---SCRIPT BEGINS---
1. Copy current highlighted selection in Chrome.
2. Paste selection in the middle of a url.
3. Open URL in new chrome tab.
Example:
I go to a website, I select the world "BAGEL"
Your script knows to insert "BAGEL" between the predefined prefix (e.g. [login to view URL]) and suffix (e.g. /photos/) of the url:
[login to view URL]
then it opens it in a chrome tab.
I can run the script through my MacroWorks app, and bind it to a key. So I just help with the above steps (Starting at 1).
Clarification on #0 and #1, what I'd like to do is simply select a string of text in chrome (or anywhere really, shouldn't matter), and your script begins there *AFTER* I made the highlight/selection with my mouse.
ADDITION:
I have 5 different links I need to do this to, so five scripts, all copies of the first except they all have unique prefixes, suffixes.
