I mean simple as its not really a navigation app, more info below:
This app is for assisting with directions(via a predefined map which is the same each time) while driving in a car.
The goal is to make example summer replacement easier on the route, so both the temp and the normal driver drives the routes the same way with delivery the same place and with same direction each time.
Notes: As such its not supposed to be a navigation-app so directions or guide to the next point is not needed here.
The driving-order is defined in the given spreadsheet.
The actual navigation could be very simple just with a dot or marker on the map for the next address.
When current “dot”/coordinate is reached(meaning product have been delivered) we push or swipe that address with “ok” and next address is shown via next dot.
These dots/addresses are controlled by their x,y coordinates.
Associated is optional information like “drop in plastic bag at door” (again here the exact drop-point is marked with the x,y coordinate) or “key to door is 1234”
This information will be shown in a window next to the map/navigation.
With this information could also be an optional jpg or video (which can be pushed and shown in a pop-up) this to show exactly how/where to deliver.
All addresses are controlled by route-ID and name in the DB:
Structure in database I imagine like this:
(This is stored in the database on the device. And can be updated)
Route ID, address, address-number, coordinate(x,y), information, .[login to view URL], [login to view URL]
And example could be:
92345, testroad,10, coordinate(x,y), drop in plastic bag at door <br/>beware of dog!, [login to view URL], [login to view URL]
All possible addresses will be provided in a spreadsheet / Excel file with the above logic. This will define the driving-order.
Then for each drive its possible to load a spreadsheet with the addresses which have delivery for that particular day. And they will then “activate” those addresses which needs deliveries for that day.
To make it the most simple I imagine I can use my own map(could be a large .jpg or multiple .jpg´s (or any other format)) and have it cut/programmed so the aspect ratio fits so that all coordinates will be show correct.
Google maps can also be used, but could easily be avoided since navigation isnt a big part of it - but could be if easiest or best to use.
All what I have written here can be modified or changed as its only ideas of mine.
If you have a better practice or idea let me know.
If it can work in Chrome within Android its best case-senario as we then hopefully wont have problems with the app and updates (and then it does not work).
But it can be build as an app also.
To find the best match then please let me know that you understand the task at hand, and explain about your experience in the field and let me know how you intend to build it and if any comments.
