I have a stock market blog that has started to take off, and I want to make it more professional and add premium content. I would also like to integrate more 3rd-party content (PR Newswire, etc.) to make it portal-like.
Must have: Better design, preferably fluid width. Only 8% of visitors have less than 800px width resolution. I like [url removed, login to view], but it is a bit cluttered (needs more white space). I also like [url removed, login to view] but that is too stark, no room to monetize. Finally, [url removed, login to view] shaded navigation boxes are attractive, though color probably not conservative enough for stock market site.
Must have: Ability to add/integrate/manage premium content and payment.
Must have: Improved navigation. At minimum a box in which user can enter stock ticker or company name and land on a company portal page. Also like the tabs in sites above, or the tabs with drop-down submenus on hover at Yahoo!Finance.
Improved admin (automatically categorize posts according to company names/tickers mentioned.
Integration with 3rd-party content such as PR Newswire (would need to access their feed as articles and delete after 90 days according to TOS). This and other content should also automatically categorize according to ticker to be accessed from company landing page.
Company landing page content/layout assistance, general input on what I should be doing to prepare site for future improvements.
Budget is more limited right now than my ideas. With any luck there will be future work if this is done satisfactorily. If above cannot be done on budget please explain why and how much extra needed aspects require.
