Hire a Graphic Designer

Summary: -I am looking for someone to create the branding for my new tutoring service. -I have strong ideas, but I need an artist/designer to tie it all together and actually create modern, impressive designs. -I am looking for someone to collaborate with over the long term as the tutoring service grows. (I've been a professional tutor for 7 years, so I'm more than ready to start this company.) What I need right now (there will almost certainly be more work in the future:) - Logo - Kid-oriented vector illustrations - Website template: I have good-enough HTML, CSS, PHP skills to install the site and modify it. - Lesson worksheet templates that I can fill with learning content. - Report card templates including spaces for graphs and tables - Flyer templates of various sizes - Email template - Business card - Banner templates including vertical standing banner Design elements: File types: - I usually work in Microsoft Publisher, but I'm very familiar with Inkscape. - So files should be SVGs so I can edit them and port them to any program I use. Colors: - The main colors of the company should be a sensible shade of yellow and blue. (See images 1 & 2) - I like warm but slightly translucent colors (see images 3 & 4.) I've attached images with color palettes I'm fond of. (See images 3, 4, 5, &6.) (Bright colors are fine if they are balanced by a lot of white.) These are just to give a sense of my personal taste. Modern design: - Since this is a company that is geared toward 8-15 year olds, I like the modern trend of flat, 2-d vector graphics. - Illustrations that appeal to kids are very welcome! - This job does not require illustrations, but I'd love to incorporate them somehow. - See images 7, 8, & 9. - I'm a big fan of plenty of negative space, especially paired with eye-catching colors. Stencil outlines go well with this, too. Logo: - I've attached rough drafts of logos I've done. I like the composition of these. (See images 1 & 2) - "Aebrite should be the most stand out part. - I like the idea of a pen or other writing utensil combined with a lightbulb. - I'm not crazy about the semi-circle around the left side of the image. I included it because I heard from a marketing friend that people's eyes are attracted to circles. - I like the "Reading & Writing Academy" to be in some sort of monotype font that brings "writing" to mind. Perhaps a simple handwritten font could work, too. Website: - The website will exist to inform potential parent clients about the company, curriculum, and me. - It should be a very clean, easily navigable site that emphasizes the content. Responsive design is the number one priority. The use of a good CSS framework is recommended. Worksheet exercises: - I need a simple, professional 8.5x11" worksheet template that matches the branding. I will fill this template in with the lessons I've created. - The template can use color because kids will be viewing the PDFs on tablets. - I've attached an example pdf of the packets I've worked with at another company. (See attachment 10.) I'm not a huge fan of this design. I like the negative space, but I'm looking for something a little more eye-catching. Though, the design should emphasize the learning content above all else. - I'd like a watermark with the company name on it or the company name incorporated somehow on each page. - Text heirarchy will be important on the worksheets. (See image 11.) Banners, flyers, email template and other collateral- Should be professional, clean, eye-catching, and consistent with other material * I borrowed a number of images from this article about 2017 design: (link removed) Hiring Details: Deadline: The program begins May 1st, but I'd like to begin marketing the program in the first week of April. Pay: The design and branding of the company is only second to the learning results. Therefore I'm open to negotiating on an hourly rate or fixed price. Communication: I consider this to be a collaboration job. I have a vision for this company, so it's vital that the designer be a strong listener and communicator. Near everything is negotiable. I'd prefer to work with one designer for all elements of the company's branding and marketing. However, the website can wait if necessary. Thanks for your time!
