Redesign of My Books Cover Page

I am looking for a redesign for the cover of my book "The Endurance Situation". The book is self published on Amazons, iTunes etc. The book is a space adventure aimed at the young adult market. I am looking for 3 different versions of the book cover so that i can gauge an opinion on which would be the most effective. It would be then used as the replacement. One of the versions I would like to be a improvement on the cover currently used as the book cover. Comments have come back that the book font is too clinical or textbook looking to be a cover for a novel. So i would like a better font and colour scheme. I made the cover using Photoshop pushing my skills with it to the limit. I would be interested to see what improvements could be made. The other two will be up to the designer. It needs to be interesting enough to grab the attention of the target market of young adult. The book is about a teenager named Jim who lives on a planet that has been cut off from the rest of the galaxy for the last 500 years. He volunteers for a mission to repair a space station that is critical in stopping Asteroids hitting they planet surface. During the return journey from the space station a accident occurs causing the ship to be transported to another solar system. Lost, unable to get home Jim and the other crew member the Professor must navigate the new planet's people, its culture and it,s problems so that they can find a way home. I will closely work with the designer answering any questions or discussing any ideas that will help make a successful cover design. I will also provide all Photoshop files used in the creation of the original design. The file needs to be a fair size so i can resize easily for each websites requirements.
