Our original website ([login to view URL]) was created more than twenty years ago. It was constructed using a software called FrontPage, from Microsoft. It was the beginning of the Internet revolution, and this program was the only one as simple as word processing (such as Word from Microsoft). Our organization used this program to create this original website.
Since then, we had two other webmasters (besides the original one) who worked on this original website according to what they knew. One of them also wrote the program for our Calendar ([login to view URL]).
By 2020 we decided that our website needed upgrading. We hired a company which claimed they would do all the things we needed to be done for the website (modernized, secure, mobile friendly, desktop functional, with e-commerce, and download all our files, etc.), and transfer the whole thing to Amazon servers. This was in August 2020. This project did not go well, and we ended our relationship with them a few days ago. The website that they have created in WordPress (WP) is: www.maitreya.org. However, many parts of this website are broken now and functionality is not good.
So, we have ended up with an old website and a broken one. We are still not sure what the problem is! Is the problem the old website with the old setup that does not lend itself to be transferred easily to the new website at WP, or the problem was the web developers who did not know how to correctly transfer that website to WP, or is it something else?
We would like to know (with your help) what the problem is/was and if you can help us to fix it. A discovery project!
