Launching a new product and service to small business owners called HealthyFrog. Healthy - because that is my target market. The young or old entrepreneur who maintain great health and seldom see a physician. A huge market who refuse to pay the outrageous fees quoted by group health carriers or the healthcare exchange.
Frog - because even a healthy person prior to aging into Medicare may have a horrible accident or illness diagnosis and will have a long term recovery. This would require them to HOP onto a Government run healthcare plan under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) at a moments notice. Many of my marketing pieces will say "Private health insurance while healthy; Hopping on Government while unhealthy".
HealthyFrog is a free market health plan that will cover roughly the first 100k of accident and illness medical expenses with no deductibles or coinsurance. This will cover roughly 95% of healthcare risk. It includes a short and long term disability of roughly 60% of ones income and will cost roughly 1/2 of what a group or individual health plan would cost.
We have a PPO network and telemedicine is included. There are many reasons why are rates are so much lower and will explain on a whiteboard video on the site. Whoever wants to help me with this project I can spell out those reasons later.
Here is the fact: ACA law allows us to enroll anybody in an ACA compliant health plan with no pre-existing exclusions whenever a special enrollment qualification occurs (loss of job, marriage, divorce, etc.) within 15 to 45 days. The entrepreneur has control of his/her work status. The severely ill or injured employee will lose the job temporarily and disability will kick in. The 100k won't be enough but will get them through the 15 to 45 day waiting period. Disability income will keep them qualified on an income level for ACA and HealthyFrog will still there to cover their deductibles and coinsurance on their new ACA plan.
This concept will work with Small business because they are lean and have a much better intimate knowledge of their staff and families. This concept won't work on mid size to large employers because they could not manage it correctly.
