Project Overview:
Hi there! I’ve written a fully rhymed children’s book titled The Caterpillar Who Dreamed of Flying. It’s designed for babies, toddlers, and early readers (ages 1–6). The tone is gentle, magical, and emotionally uplifting — following the journey of a little caterpillar who dreams of one day flying and eventually becomes a butterfly.
I'm looking for a talented illustrator who can bring this story to life with soft, colorful, and expressive illustrations, ideally in a hand-drawn or digital watercolor/cartoon style that appeals to modern parents and kids (think Gen Alpha/Gen Beta aesthetics).
Scope of Work:
12 interior page illustrations (full-page or spreads)
1 front cover illustration (optional: full wrap including back cover)
Caterpillar character should show a range of expressions and poses (curious, dreamy, sleepy, excited, flying, etc.)
Backgrounds: garden, sky, cocoon scenes, birds, other bug friends
Final files: high-resolution for print (300 DPI), RGB/CMYK versions, layered PSD/PNG files if possible

Hello. Your project interests me alot. I'm confident I have a style that would match your expectations, i'm familiar with modern children book styles as I've done such projects before, like a couple of full books and pilot ideas. I dont use artificial intelligence, so you can rest easy that everything will look consistent.
For book projects I usually start by sketching quick thumnails of the full book layout, experimenting with close ups, wide shots and such, to test the readability and composition. After this we can move on to color palette.
