I have a complete children’s storybook that needs to be rendered into clear, everyday Indonesian so young readers can follow the plot and humour with ease. The tone must stay playful and simple—think the kind of language kids naturally hear at home or in class, not stiff classroom formalities. The original manuscript is supplied in an editable file; you will return the full text in the same format, preserving chapter breaks, headings, and any emphasis (bold, italics) already in place. Please leave short translator notes only where absolutely necessary to clarify cultural references. Key points you should keep in mind while working: • Audience: children • Desired register: bahasa sehari-hari, friendly and engaging Before we close the project, I will review the draft for flow and child-appropriate vocabulary. One clean, proof-read revision after my notes will complete the task. If you have experience translating or adapting kids’ literature and can capture rhythm, wordplay, and warmth, I’d love to read a brief sample of your work with your bid.

Hi, I’m Mely Horman. I’d love to help adapt your children’s storybook into natural, everyday Indonesian that feels playful, warm, and easy for young readers to follow. I understand this requires more than literal translation. The wording needs to preserve the original story and humour while sounding natural for Indonesian children. I’m also detail-oriented with proofreading, consistency, formatting, and child-appropriate vocabulary. I can preserve the original chapter breaks, headings, and emphasis while ensuring the Indonesian version flows naturally. I’ve added a short English–Indonesian children’s story adaptation sample to my portfolio for your review. I’d be happy to follow your preferred style and guidelines. Best regards, Mely Horman

Hello! I’d love to help adapt your children’s storybook into natural, everyday Indonesian. I do have experience telling stories to children, so I understand how important simple wording, warmth, humor, rhythm, and easy-to-follow storytelling are for young readers. Rather than translating word-for-word, I would focus on making the Indonesian version feel natural and engaging while preserving the original story, tone, jokes, and character personalities. I’ll also carefully maintain the existing chapter breaks, headings, and formatting, and provide translator notes only when genuinely necessary. I’m happy to provide a short sample so you can judge whether my writing style fits your story. I’m also comfortable incorporating your feedback and completing one clean revision before delivery. I’d love the opportunity to bring your story to Indonesian-speaking children.

I’d love to help translate and adapt your children’s storybook into natural, engaging Indonesian. I will also pay close attention to child-friendly vocabulary and everyday Indonesian that sounds natural both at home and in a classroom setting. I am comfortable adapting expressions and cultural references when necessary so they remain clear and enjoyable for young Indonesian readers without losing the author’s original intention. I will provide a clean, proofread translation and am also happy to make one revision based on your feedback. I’m ready to provide a short sample of my work if required and would be excited to contribute to this project. Thank you for considering my proposal!

Hi, This one caught my eye because I’ve worked on McDonald’s Happy Meal Books, developing the concept and creative direction around children, books and imagination. I’m a Senior Art Director with 10+ years in advertising, and a big part of my work is making ideas and language feel natural for Indonesian audiences. For this project, I’d keep the Indonesian simple, conversational and playful, not overly formal or “translated.” I’ll also preserve the original structure and formatting and handle the revision round. May I know what’s the approximate word count and target age range? Happy to do a short sample from the manuscript. Best regards, Riris
