I have been working in product design since 2008 using PTC/Creo software, designing numerous products and handling mold making, production, and assembly. I have extensive experience in mold making and 3D printing design. Because in the early stages of product development, I need to confirm the prototype assembly via 3D printing before communicating with the mold-making factory for Design for Manufacturability (DFM). This includes confirming the injection port location, wall thickness uniformity, mold flow analysis, parting line location, etc. The plastic material needs to be determined during product development, as different materials cannot be injection molded using the same mold.
