Hi! A real-money poker client with live chat at the table is a project we can take on with confidence — the real-time messaging layer especially is territory we know well. Before locking down an approach, the one thing that changes the scope a lot is whether there's an existing codebase to work from or if this starts from zero. A refactor means we're first auditing how gameplay state and chat currently interact — chat can't introduce any lag or risk to hand data mid-session, so we'd need to see how that's structured today. Starting fresh gives us more control over that separation from day one, but obviously means more groundwork before chat itself gets built. Which situation are we in? On how we'd build it: for cross-platform reach without duplicating effort on iOS and Android, React Native is a strong fit unless there's a hard reason to stay native — worth telling me if Objective-C was a deliberate choice tied to existing code. Hand events would stay separate, so chat payloads never carry private game state.
