I am building a full-featured Student Management System in Java and I want the finished application to be clean, well-structured, and ready for hand-over to another developer or a teaching environment. Scope The core is a desktop Java application (Swing or JavaFX is fine) that lets me create, read, update, and delete student records while also managing courses, grades, and attendance. All data should persist to a MySQL database, but I am open to PostgreSQL or any other relational engine if that makes development smoother. Code Quality & Structure • Modern, layered architecture (DAO / service / UI) so future modules—such as Inventory, Library, or POS—could plug in without rewrites. • Thorough in-line comments and concise Javadoc on every public class or method. • Clear naming conventions, no dead code, and consistent formatting so the project can double as a learning reference. Interface A straightforward, intuitive GUI with menus or tabs for Students, Courses, and Reports is enough; polished styling is a plus but secondary to usability. Deliverables 1. Complete, bug-free Java source code with comments. 2. SQL scripts (schema + sample seed data). 3. A brief README explaining how to compile, run, and re-point database credentials. 4. Optional: an executable JAR or native installer for quick testing. Acceptance Criteria • All CRUD operations perform correctly and are reflected in the database. • No unhandled exceptions during normal use; I will run the app for at least one full day with typical data sets. • Compile-time warnings kept to a minimum (none from the IDE’s default settings). If you have a reusable framework or past project that fits most of these requirements, let me know; I am happy to iterate quickly from a solid base.
