We need a web calculator that we can put in one of our existing web pages that will calculate how much hard disk space that will be required under various usage scenarios.
The front-end user will input three different values (number of telephones, hours per day recording, and days per week recording) into the Calculator fields. When they press "Calculate", the system will return the amount of hard disk space required in GB per year (rounded up to the nearest whole number).
The front-end input values will be:
[url removed, login to view] of Telephone Stations (U)
[url removed, login to view] No. of Hours Per Day Recording Per Station (max value: 24)(H)
3.No. of Days Per Week that recording takes place (1 to 7)(D)
- 52 weeks in a year
- 3MB/hour storage rate
- 1000 MB/GB
U * H * D * 52 * 3 / 1000 = GB (rounded up to a whole number)
Ten users being recorded eight hours per day, five days per week, will require 63 GB/year for storage.
10 * 8 * 5 * 52 weeks * 3 / 1000 = 62.4 rounded up to 63 GB/year
