I need a custom payment extension for Magento 2.1 for a local payment gateway. I have something that's partially developed but not fully functional yet. The workflow is pretty straight forward, however, I am a Magento newbie and not really comfortable with the entire system. Ideally, the plugin should be loaded with javascript that is called from the payment gateway. Then this function should override the "Place Order button" after payment is complete, the user should then be redirected to a order completed page (The gateway also requires a verification step before value is given to the end-user ). The backend control panel which accepts and saves payment plugin parameters is done. However, my front end integration seems to be breaking the checkout page.
